Lorelei is the solo project of South African singer and artist Heike Langhans (ex-Draconian, REMINA, Sojourner). After years of releasing only singles and unfinished demos, Heike finally fulfilled her promise of releasing a full solo album. Peace By Proxy is the first album under the Lorelei name in sixteen years, a 10-track offering of dreamy darkwave that comes from a more personal space than her other bands.

Still inspired by sci-fi and cosmology, this album veers more towards existential truths and fears with moments of vulnerability and frustration for the human condition and the world we live in. Catchy melodies, hypnotic synths and punchy beats, coupledi with Heike’s unmistakable voice makes this a truly unique album.

Here at Avantgarde Music we asked Heike to comment on this release, which will finally see the light of day in physical form, after an initial digital-only release. 'I took ages to finish this album’, Heike says ‘Because this project merely served as a bottle of time-capsules where I express personal musings. To my surprise, listeners like the dark electronic stuff and perhaps relate to the themes as well, so nothing but gratitude to the Avantgarde Music family for releasing this!'

Progressive death metal outfit Rhynn are set to release their debut full-length King of Nothing via Unorthodox Emanations, the death metal division of Avantgarde Music. Founded by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Abakar Ibragimov, Rhynn emerged in 2019, initially inspired by the worlds of science fiction and fantasy. Born in Dagestan in 1990, Ibragimov grew up against the backdrop of the Chechen wars, finding refuge in music and literature from an early age. While those original inspirations remain part of Rhynn‘s identity, King of Nothing is ultimately rooted in much more immediate and personal experiences.

Written over several years, the album reflects on displacement, uncertainty, social decay, disillusionment and fatherhood. “Oblivion” is the first single from the album, now available for streaming worldwide via YouTube, Bandcamp and all digital platforms.

Rhynn look primarily towards the foundations of death and heavy metal rather than contemporary metal production. Progressive structures and intricate arrangements are combined with a deliberately organic approach: the band sought to make King of Nothing sound as live as possible, avoiding excessive production and preserving the physical character of the performances. Fretless bass by Linus Klausenitzer (ex-Obscura) became an unexpected but defining element of the album.

Enriched with powerful, evocative paintings by illustrator Stan Ivan, Rhynn’s debut album will be released on November 27th, 2026, through Unorthodox Emanations / Avantgarde Music, on CD and digital formats. Preorders are now live via Sound Cave and Bandcamp!

Eight years after the acclaimed Slow Motion Death Sequence, Norwegian experimental visionaries Manes return with To Burn Is To Shine, their sixth full-length album and the beginning of a new chapter in a career defined by fearless artistic evolution.

Since their inception in Trondheim in 1992, Manes have consistently refused to remain confined within stylistic boundaries. Emerging from the early Norwegian black metal underground with the cult debut Under Ein Blodraud Maane, the band soon embarked on a remarkable transformation that culminated in the landmark Vilosophe, an album that would become one of the defining statements of avant-garde metal. Throughout the following decades, Manes have continued to blur the lines between metal, dark electronica, alternative rock, trip-hop and experimental music, developing a sound that remains unmistakably their own.

Stones In Your Pocket” is the first single from the new Manes album, and is available for streaming worldwide via YouTube, Bandcamp and all and every streaming platform.

More than three decades after their formation, Manes remain one of the most uncompromising and unpredictable entities to emerge from Norway’s extreme music scene.
