From the genius of Abraham-Louis Breguet to the future of chronometry. To mark its 250th anniversary, unveils the new Classique 7225 — a timepiece that perfectly bridges heritage and innovation in the relentless pursuit of precision.
Fitted with a high-frequency escapement (10 Hz) and a patented magnetic pivot, the 7225 continues the research initiated by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1802 to refine the very essence of timekeeping. This ingenious system stabilizes the balance staff by neutralizing the effects of gravity and friction, achieving a certified accuracy of ±1 second per day — an exceptional feat for a mechanical watch.
The design draws inspiration from Reference 1176 (1809), one of the earliest tourbillons ever made by the master himself, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. It features a 41 mm Breguet gold case, a “Quai de l’Horloge” guilloché dial, twin small seconds counters, and the manual-winding Caliber 74SC with a flat double silicon balance and 60 hours of power reserve.
Limited to 250 pieces, the Classique 7225 is also the first timepiece to bear the Breguet Hallmark, engraved on both the case and the buckle. This exclusive seal stands for three essential commitments:
👉 Excellence of craftsmanship, with every component and finish executed to the highest standards of Haute Horlogerie.
👉 Chronometric and magnetic performance, individually tested and certified.
👉 Ethical integrity, reflecting Breguet’s dedication to responsible manufacturing and the preservation of traditional Swiss savoir-faire.
A symbol of excellence that captures over two centuries of innovation in a single heartbeat. What are your thoughts on this new evolution of Breguet’s timeless legacy? Share them below 👇
