Inside a quiet Parisian villa, this 1920s duplex distills the art of compact modernist living. Once an artist’s studio, its 30 sq m were reimagined in the 1960s by Swiss engineer Charles Vienne and designer Janette Laverrière. Inspired by Le Corbusier’s open-plan principles, the space combines custom mahogany furnishings, a hidden kitchen, and multifunctional features enlivened by bold color. Laverrière’s mastery of light and storage transforms its modest scale into a luminous, efficient haven—both timeless and ingeniously crafted.
