Cornello dei Tasso is 40 minutes from Milan.

In the 13th century, the local Tasso family built a courier network across Europe and held a monopoly over the imperial postal lines for three centuries.

The village has barely changed since.

Cornello dei Tasso - a small village in northern Italy, located in Val Brembana, about 20 km from Bergamo and around 60 km from Milan.

It sits on a rocky outcrop above the Brembo River, surrounded by mountains and forest.

You reach it on foot. Roads were built lower in the valley, so the village stayed untouched.

From Milan, it’s about 1.5 hours by car, then a short walk. From Bergamo, around 40 minutes.
