The Mad Scientist from Belgium is without a doubt one of them. As a resident DJ of Gabber Resistance, he has become a familiar face within the Early Hardcore scene. He looks like a true gabber, lives the gabber lifestyle, and brings an incredible energy and charisma to every performance.
At the age of 15, he discovered the legendary Thunderdome CDs from the ’90s—a moment that changed his life forever. Growing up in Belgium, where the gabber scene could never be compared to the Dutch movement, his passion only grew stronger. At 17, he attended his very first hardcore party, and from that moment on, he travelled across the Netherlands, discovering not only the music he loved but also friendships that would last a lifetime.
Three years ago, he began his journey as a vinyl DJ and quickly became a resident of Gabber Resistance. Today, he performs at events across Europe—something he never imagined would become reality.
For The Mad Scientist, Early Hardcore is much more than music. It is a culture. A family. A movement that connects people through its rawness, honesty, and authenticity. Back then, every producer had a unique sound and followed their own path—without copying others or relying on ready-made sample packs. That genuine spirit is exactly what makes the oldschool sound so timeless and powerful.
His story is proof that Early Hardcore will never die. A whole new generation has fallen in love with music that is more than 30 years old, keeping its legacy alive with the same passion that started it all.
