What will the shapes of tomorrow’s winter sports look like?
Created for White Out, the exhibition that opened yesterday at and curated by and with , this infographic explores whether — and how — skiing and winter sports might still be possible in the near future.
Starting from climate data by German researcher , the project translates complex scenarios into a clear and visual narrative. Under the concept Shapes of Tomorrow’s Winter Sports, three key variables define the story: snow availability, water consumption for artificial snow, and the future length of ski seasons.
Each dataset is distilled into a simple geometric form — a triangle, a circle, and a square — symbolizing a mountain, an alpine lake, and a calendar. Visually, the infographic draws inspiration from orographic drawings, using textures, patterns, and sectional lines to evoke the language of topography and landscape mapping.
See you at White Out.
