We are a publisher which aim to keep alive the art of books as pieces of true artisan craftsmanship.

We print with a manual proof press dating back to the early 20th century and the books will be bound completely by hand.

You may have read about it in yesterday’s newsletter, but it’s time to spread the news! We’re very excited to announce that we finally have an official start date for the campaign: October 21st.

FRANKENSTEIN / ARCTIC EDITION
The decorations on the book’s edge, featuring the monster’s scars, turn to gold; there will also be golden lines along the entire border of the book’s covers.
The Arctic Edition is the final one, produced in only 15 copies, since 15 are the original works by Marino Neri created specifically for this edition of Frankenstein.

- 15 signed and numbered copies, numbered in Roman numerals from no. I to no. XV

- Entirely hand-sewn and hand-bound

- Cover inlaid with three differently colored leathers, drum-dyed with vegetable pigments

- Cover decorated with hot stamping in four colors

- Entirely letterpress-printed in four colors

- 15 Illustrations printed in letterpress and colored in silkscreen with natural pigments

- Top edge dyed light green with natural colors and decorated with golden scars, silkscreened with natural pigments

- Decorated with a gold fillet on the edge of the book cover

- Contains the complete collection of illustrations drawn by Marino Neri, printed in letterpress and hand-colored in silkscreen using natural pigments

- Includes one of the original drawings by the artist Marino Neri, created and used specifically for this edition of Frankenstein

- It comes with a hand-crafted jointed wooden bookcase and a soft paper slipcase

FRANKENSTEIN / ISLAND EDITION
With the Island Edition things get a little more ‘complicated.’ In the coming days we’ll go into even more detail, edition by edition: we want to show you more closely the top edge, dyed light green and decorated with grey scars, silkscreened with natural colors, along with many other details. For now, however, we’re sharing the main features.

- 70 signed and numbered copies, from no. 16 to no. 85

- Entirely hand-sewn and hand-bound

- Cover inlaid with three differently colored leathers, drum-dyed with vegetable pigments

- Cover decorated with hot stamping in four colors

- Entirely letterpress-printed in four colors

- 15 Illustrations printed in letterpress and colored in silkscreen with natural pigments

- Top edge dyed light green with natural colors and decorated with light grey scars, silkscreened with natural pigments

THE FOREST EDITION
We continue with the presentation of the editions, named following the journey of our protagonists.
The Forest Edition will by default include illustrations screen-printed with natural colors. The leather used is of the highest quality, as are all the materials employed.

- 100 signed and numbered copies, from no. 86 to no. 185

- Entirely hand-sewn and hand-bound

- Bound in dark grey leather, drum-dyed with natural dyes

- Cover decorated in three colors with hot stamping

- Entirely printed in letterpress with four colors

- 15 Illustrations printed in letterpress and colored in silkscreen with natural pigments

- Top edge dyed light green with natural colors

We’ve entered the launch month, and it’s time to start presenting the different editions.
The first and base edition is the Lake Edition, which will be part of the Super Early Bird 24h offer at a price of $299.

On the spine, you’ll find the author’s full name, the title Frankenstein, and the Morning Bell logo.
On the front cover, you’ll see Marino Neri’s illustration, together with the complete title of the work: Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus.

This edition includes 266 signed and numbered copies, from No. 186 to No. 451.
It is entirely hand-sewn and hand-bound, featuring Bodoni-style binding in grey cloth.
The cover is decorated in three colors with hot stamping, and the book is entirely printed in letterpress, in four colors.
It also includes 15 illustrations printed in letterpress in one color, with the option to add additional colors in silkscreen printing with natural pigments as an add-on on Kickstarter, although Marino Neri’s illustrations were conceived to work perfectly even with the main color alone.

We’re grateful to share that, with more than a month to go before launch, Kickstarter already loves us. Our publishing debut was made possible thanks to this wonderful community, and soon we’ll begin a new chapter together with Frankenstein.
