Hi, I’m Aldren Ortega — born in Mabini, Batangas in the Philippines and now calling Modena, Italy my second home. I work as an accountant by day, and in my free time, I’m learning code and programming as I prepare for a future in tech. I also assist a lawyer whenever he needs me and stay actively involved in supporting the Filipino community in Italy. I’m deeply rooted in Ignatian spirituality, wh

ich encourages me to seek God in all things and to live with purpose, reflection, and service. I create TikTok videos about Catholic teachings and the lives of the saints, hoping to inspire others to grow in faith and find meaning in everyday moments. I serve the Filipino Catholic Community of Modena as an altar server, where I find joy in sharing reflections on servant leadership, Catholic values, and spirituality. As an INFP-A, I’m guided by empathy, honesty, and open communication — qualities that shape both my professional life and my relationships. I hold a Diploma in Business, Accountancy, and Foreign Languages from ITCS Jacopo Barozzi in Modena. In 2024, I ran for the City Council of Modena, driven by a genuine desire to serve and give back to the community that has embraced me. As December begins, napapaisip ako kung gaano ako nagbago nitong taon — kung paano ako na-challenge, na-shape, at na-push to look at myself more honestly. Kaya this month, I decided to give it a new meaning.

𝕱𝖔𝖗 𝖒𝖊, 𝕯 𝖎𝖓 𝕯𝖊𝖈𝖊𝖒𝖇𝖊𝖗 𝖘𝖙𝖆𝖓𝖉𝖘 𝖋𝖔𝖗 𝕯𝖊𝖛𝖊𝖑𝖔𝖕𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖙.

Lately, I’ve been making small but meaningful changes. Yung mga simpleng bagay na hindi halata sa labas, pero ang laki ng impact sa loob.
I’ve started waking up early — as in 4 AM early — and may peace talaga sa oras na ‘yon. It makes me feel grounded and in control of my day. I’m back in the gym, slowly rebuilding my strength, both physically and mentally. And I’ve started reading books again — yung mga libro na nagbibigay ng knowledge, nagchi-challenge ng mindset ko, at tumutulong sa growth ko.

Hindi ito big leaps. Pero bawat pagbangon ko ng maaga… bawat workout ko… bawat chapter na natatapos ko… parang unti-unti kong nakikita yung version ng sarili ko na matagal ko nang gustong maabot.

December doesn’t have to be just the end of the year. Para sa’kin, it’s becoming the start of something better.
A reminder na hindi kailangan hintayin ang January para mag-grow.

This December, let D stand for Development — small changes now that lead to real growth next year.

Oggi ho letto una notizia che voglio condividere con voi. 💛

Il 2 dicembre 2025 Modena inaugurerà un nuovo monumento dedicato ai suoi “Giusti tra le Nazioni”, nel Parco dei Mutilati e Invalidi di Guerra. Un omaggio a quei modenesi che, durante le persecuzioni nazifasciste, hanno rischiato tutto pur di salvare uomini, donne e bambini ebrei.

L’opera, realizzata dagli studenti dell’Istituto d’Arte A. Venturi, ricorda 23 persone e famiglie modenesi che hanno scelto il coraggio, la solidarietà e l’umanità in uno dei capitoli più bui della nostra storia.

Personalmente sono pienamente d’accordo con questa iniziativa: mantenere viva la memoria è fondamentale. Monumenti come questo non sono solo simboli, ma strumenti per educare, riflettere e ricordare che anche nei momenti più difficili qualcuno ha scelto di fare la cosa giusta.

Un gesto importante, civile e necessario. 🌿
Grazie a tutte le istituzioni e alle realtà locali che hanno reso possibile questo progetto.

From the Gospel according to Luke
21:20-28

Jesus said to his disciples:
“When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies,
know that its desolation is at hand.
Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.
Let those within the city escape from it,
and let those in the countryside not enter the city,
for these days are the time of punishment
when all the Scriptures are fulfilled.
Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days,
for a terrible calamity will come upon the earth
and a wrathful judgment upon this people.
They will fall by the edge of the sword
and be taken as captives to all the Gentiles;
and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles
until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

“There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars,
and on earth nations will be in dismay,
perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves.
People will die of fright
in anticipation of what is coming upon the world,
for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
And then they will see the Son of Man
coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
But when these signs begin to happen,
stand erect and raise your heads
because your redemption is at hand.”

they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons,
and they will have you led before kings and governors
because of my name.
It will lead to your giving testimony.
Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand,
for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking
that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.
You will even be handed over by parents,
