⚽ The GoGoPig, yet again, scores big!

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 on the horizon, our animated series The Gogopig is proving that the true spirit of soccer belongs to everyone.
A heartfelt thank you to Vincenzo Buresta and the team at ScreenWorld (one of Italy's main digital magazines for cinema and entertainment) for reviewing our production in the thoughtful article dedicated to The GoGoPig, our small and very determined pig stepping (this time) onto the soccer pitch.

🏆 As highlighted in the piece, GoGoPig lives exactly at that intersection: a character moving through football, sports culture and web-native entertainment, bringing together humor, energy and the universal language of the game.

✨ If you haven’t had the chance to read the article yet, we highly recommend taking a few minutes to check it out:

🐽️ The GoGoPig is back and this time it’s all about football and the World Cup!

After the success of the Winter Session, created to celebrate the road to Milano Cortina 2026, The GoGoPig returns with a brand‑new chapter.
The Soccer Session is the second step in our journey to bring major global sporting events to kids through adventure, humor and imagination, now with a fresh high‑definition restyling that gives our long‑running series a new shine.

⚽ As the world gets ready for the FIFA World Cup, GoGoPig and Mr. Cat dive into the universe of football through 13 episodes inspired by the iconic roles, emotions and moments that make this sport so magical, becoming an energetic, fun and educational journey!

🎧 This season will also be available in Italian, English and - for the first time - Spanish, opening the door to even more fans worldwide.
In the Italian version, the unforgettable voice of Mr. Cat is once again performed by renowned actor Gianluca Iacono.

At Maga, we love turning major sporting events into creative playgrounds for children.
With the Soccer Session, we’re transforming the global excitement of the World Cup into a weekly adventure where kids (and grown‑ups) can laugh, learn and experience the joy of football together. ✨

✨ It’s always significant when a meaningful conversation turns into a story worth telling!

We’re glad to share that NORA ノラ has been featured on Rockol, a historic Italian online music publication founded in the mid‑1990s and widely regarded as a cornerstone in the country’s music journalism.

🎶 Rockol covers NORA at a key moment for our project, after her debut music video “Beat of a Romance / Cha Cha Cha” received the award for Best Animation Music Video at the Lit Awards in New York.
At the core of the feature is NORA’s fully human creative process: a digital artist created without the use of generative AI, shaped by composers, performers and animators working between sound, image and visual storytelling.

A heartfelt thank you to journalist Davide Poliani who recently visited our studio in Monza.
It was a real pleasure to talk with him about the vision behind NORA and the creative process that shapes the project.

🌍 In 2004, “Mr. Mille” was one of the early experimental CG animated shorts produced at Maga Animation Studio and directed by Max Carrier Ragazzi.

Though wrapped in humor and surreal invention, the short was created with a clear intention: to reflect on how excessive technological power, especially when concentrated in large systems such as governments and superpowers, can drift away from human needs and from the natural world itself.

At its core, Mr. Mille is a story about imbalance. The protagonist, part of a technological experiment, deals with a machine that is supposed to bring him into the future, but what future exactly? The promise of efficiency and progress is substituted by chaos and confusion. This exaggeration was designed as a metaphor: when we push technology beyond purpose and awareness, it stops serving us and it distances us from the essential things that actually sustain real life.

Rewatching the film today, more than 20 years later, its message remains simple and relevant. After all the noise, excess and over‑engineered solutions, Mr. Mille ultimately chooses something different: fresh air, an old bicycle and the quiet presence of nature. A reminder that sometimes the most meaningful path forward is the one that slows us down and reconnects us to what is real, organic and necessary: clean air, water and an unspoiled environment 🌱

For this Earth Day, we’re happy to share Mr. Mille again. Not as an environmental slogan, but as an invitation to reflect with witty irony on scale, responsibility and the everyday choices that shape the world we live in

☀️ A new burst of colour and personality has recently joined the kids’ section of , one of Italy’s leading on‑demand entertainment platforms.
This is where “Mr. Men Little Miss Mini Adventures”, produced by Maga Animation Studio for Europe, continues its journey, reaching families with its unmistakable tone.

Inspired by the iconic creations of Roger and Adam Hargreaves, the series brings their timeless humour into a contemporary, fast‑paced format. Each short episode blends distinctive personalities, visual playfulness and a storytelling style that speaks to both new viewers and long‑time fans.
The Italian version also features the unmistakable talent of Pietro Ubaldi, among the most famous voice actors in the country, lending his voice to Mr. Grumpy and Mr. Bump.

🌱 A reminder that stories can continue their path long after their initial release, travelling into new homes and meeting new viewers along the way!

Some journeys are meant to be experienced without breaks ⚡
The complete cinematic story of Soulstice, the dark‑fantasy action game by Reply Game Studios, is now available as an 80‑minute 4K movie on our YouTube channel!

It brings Briar and Lute’s path through the fall of Ilden together in one continuous arc: Briar, transformed into a Chimera to confront what threatens their world, and Lute, the spirit bound to her soul, steady even when everything else fractures.
Their bond cuts through ruins, memories and a darkness that never truly sleeps.

Working on the cinematic arc of Soulstice meant stepping inside this universe and following the sisters through every moment that defines them: fierce, fragile and deeply human beneath the fantasy.
Thank you Reply Game Studios for bringing us into this world and for the trust throughout the journey✨

🔮 If you want to feel the story as it unfolds, the complete cinematic cut is waiting on our channel: https://youtu.be/gU3YPtg2rLU

While part of our studio was attending the event dedicated to the 2026 Oscars, our CEO and creative director Carrier Ragazzi was just landing back in Italy from San Francisco: here’s GDC Festival of Gaming 2026🔥

From the 9th to the 13th, key players, developers, designers, publishers and storytellers came together to learn, grow, and shape the future of gaming. We're glad for all the people we met, with interesting backgrounds and experiences ✨

We were part of the Italian video game developer's delegation, thanks to IIDEA - Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association, under the aegis of the Italian Trade Agency Los Angeles Office.

🎬 Seeing the Oscars 98th edition on the big screen gave us chills: a theater full of people watching the ceremony together, reacting, discussing and turning the long wait into a shared experience, only like cinema and the arts can do.

Representing Maga Animation Studio, from our communication team Alice Carrier-Ragazzi (Social Media Manager) and Davide Uggetti (Cinema and Media Culture Writer), were there to follow the event live, capturing the energy of the room and taking in the audience reaction to this year’s animation stories.

This edition of the Academy Awards recognized:
🏆 Best Animated Feature: “KPop Demon Hunters”, produced by Sony Pictures Animation for Netflix, directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans.
🏆 Best Animated Short: “The Girl Who Cried Pearls”, produced by the ONF, directed by Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski.
These choices are already sparking new thoughts and perspectives on where the industry is heading.

Amazing guests weren’t missing, starting with an intriguing conversation with Cristina Resa about Folk Horror and Sinners, and a deep dive with Gio Quasirosso into the making of his movie posters variants 🎞️

A sincere thank you to Badtaste, ScreenWorld, CinemaSerieTV.it, and Notorious Cinemas for shaping such a warm, curious atmosphere. And a special thanks to Luca Liguori, whose invitation turned an ordinary Sunday into one of those nights that stay with you.
🍿 Animation still has so much to say, growing as a true language across the years!

What are your thoughts on this year's winners? Did your favorite take home the Oscar?

08/03/2026

At Maga Animation Studio, we recognize that the gender gap isn’t a symbolic issue to be marked with a momentary gesture on International Women’s Day; it is a structural reality that runs across industries, and ours is no exception.

This becomes even more evident when considering the music landscape in which our in‑house division Maga Animation Music works, crafting the sound that brings our animated worlds to life. Music is a narrative force, and the people who create it shape which voices become part of the stories we tell.

Equaly the first Italian organization dedicated to gender equality in the music industry, reports that women represent only 12% of artists featured in Italy’s top‑selling albums. Globally, the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative highlights that women hold just 5.9% of producing credits.
These gaps directly influence who composes, who produces and whose creative perspectives enter mainstream culture.

This year, we chose to stand with Equaly by signing their Manifesto and supporting their mission toward systemic change.
Their latest report shows how the Italian music industry remains deeply male‑dominated, with women facing significant barriers in technical and production roles. It also highlights how informal work environments can make discrimination and harassment more difficult to identify and report, creating a system where many voices remain unheard. The report comes from a survey on gender-based violence. It's anonymous, ongoing and available on their website.

Beyond signing, we are committing to a more intentional search for diverse music and audio collaborators across our productions. The stories we create can only grow richer when more voices are invited to shape them.
And if our choice encourages even one more studio to ask “Whose voice is missing in the work we create, and what can we change?” then we’re moving in the right direction.

If you want to explore the work behind this movement, discover Equaly and their mission here 👉 https://www.equaly.it

Equaly, nata nel 2021, è la prima realtà italiana che si occupa della parità di genere all’interno del music business.

In Italian, “Maga” means a sorceress, someone who can turn imagination into something real.
That idea has guided us since day one. And it’s exactly the spirit that Badtaste - one of Italy’s leading entertainment outlets for cinema, TV and pop culture - captured during their recent visit to our studio.

The new feature explores our vision for animation and the philosophy shared in the interview with Maga Animation’s founder and CEO, Massimo Carrier Ragazzi. The article retraces how our identity evolved, from traditional animation to today’s hybrid creative approach, and reflects on how we use technology to support - never replace - human imagination and artistic intention.
There’s also a look at our project NORA ノラ, the first Italian virtual pop star created without generative AI, together with a wider reflection on the state of animation in Italy and abroad, with its opportunities and challenges for independent studios.

We were truly happy to open our doors and share the atmosphere of Maga Animation Studio, the place where ideas take shape, teams collaborate and a touch of everyday magic turns creativity into meaningful stories.
A sincere thank you to journalist Alessandro Ritrovato for the thoughtful dialogue and to BadTaste publisher Luca Liguori for giving space to independent studios like ours.
