We’re grateful to Motionographer for shining a light on our vision. Since 2006, their editorial approach has set a benchmark for the industry, inspiring creators everywhere - including us - to push boundaries and explore new narratives.
That same spirit of innovation is what led us to create NORA, the first Italian V-Idol: a virtual pop star with a real voice and an authentic soul.

Her debut music video “Beat of a Romance / Cha Cha Cha” takes viewers into a vaporwave-inspired universe, where she encounters alternative versions of herself in a dreamlike, post-digital dimension.

Bringing this vision to life was a two-year journey inside a creative laboratory. Under the direction of Serena Tripepi, we chose key-frame animation over motion capture to preserve authenticity, emotional depth and our animation style.

On the technical side, our team explored Unreal Engine not as a game tool, but as a cinematic platform, experimenting with look development and lighting to achieve a distinctive aesthetic.
VFX added holograms and distortions inspired by ’80s and ’90s concert aesthetics, amplifying the narrative of energy and light.

And one thing matters most: NORA is not AI-generated. This isn’t about rejecting technology, it’s about making a creative choice. For this project, we wanted every detail to reflect human intention and emotion, or imperfections. AI is an incredible tool, but here imagination led the way.

🐽️ The GoGoPig is back and it’s more fun, snowy and Olympic than ever!

As the world gets ready for Milano Cortina 2026, our animated series returns to YouTube with a fresh new look and a renewed mission: to celebrate the spirit of the Winter Olympics through laughter, movement and discovery.

❄️ GoGoPig and Mr. Cat are ready to take children on a whirlwind adventure across the snowy landscapes of winter sports.
Each episode dives into a different Olympic discipline - from ski jumping to bobsled, ice hockey to figure skating - combining adrenaline and humor with a touch of magic.

For the first time, the series will be available in Spanish, alongside Italian and English, making it accessible to even more kids around the world.
In the Italian version, the unmistakable voice of Mr. Cat is brought to life by famous voice actor Gianluca Iacono, adding warmth and charisma to a character already loved by many.

At Maga, we like to think of animation as a playground for ideas, especially when it involves snow, sports and a pig in motion. With The GoGoPig, we’re turning winter sports into a weekly adventure where kids can laugh, learn and get ready to live the Olympic spirit like true little champions. ✨

Throwback to October 17th, when the energy of our talk at VIEW Conference in Turin, “NORA: the first Italian V-Idol and digital pop star”, still feels so alive ✨

On stage were Serena Tripepi, director of NORA’s first music video, and Massimo Carrier Ragazzi, executive producer and show runner, walking the audience through how NORA came to life, from concept to ex*****on, and all the emotional and cultural layers in between.

VIEW Conference was the perfect setting for this kind of exchange, bringing together artists, technologists and creatives from around the world. So many curious minds, creative souls, and inspiring conversations. We’re grateful for the warm response and the curiosity around NORA ノラ and we’re excited to keep building her story.

NORA ノラ is a virtual artist, born from the fusion of animation, music and technology. As Italy’s first V-Idol, she embodies a new kind of pop star: one that lives in the digital space, connects with audiences through emotion and performance, and opens up new possibilities for how stories are told and experienced. This is a project that’s been close to our hearts and represents a bold step into the future of digital storytelling with a human soul.

On October 9th, director of NORA's debut music video and technical director at our studio, Serena Tripepi took part in a forward-looking panel at MIA Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo in Rome: “The new production pipeline: how game engines are reshaping animation's business.”

Alongside Zoltán Bathó (producer and educator in R&D, real-time and virtual production) and Davide Tromba (CEO of Animoka), and moderated by Cristian Jezdic (producer at beQ Entertainment), the discussion explored how real-time tools and interactive storytelling are transforming animation workflows, unlocking new opportunities for cross-media projects and multiplatform IPs.

It was a pleasure to share Maga Animation's vision and connect with professionals who are pushing the boundaries of what animation can be. Rome offered the perfect setting to reflect on innovation and creativity.

Back from MLD 2025 with renewed energy and ready to dance in tune with NORA ノラ💜

✨ On September 12th, we proudly launched NORA ノラ, our Virtual Idol, along with her debut single, released across all major music platforms! Thanks to the collaboration with top music distributors in Japan, Korea, France and beyond, Nora is already making waves internationally.

🌟 A special thank you to for giving us an incredible last-minute spotlight. Amid a day packed with activities, events, and panels focused on licensed properties, with Serena Tripepi (director of the project) we unveiled Nora IP to the public for the very first time: a brand-new icon designed for everyone, from Gen Z to a range of distinct audience profiles, now building momentum across global audiences.

Ever wondered what a virtual idol born from real human creativity looks like? 💜

Meet NORA ノラ, the first Italian digital popstar with a real voice, brought to life by our team at Maga Animation Studio through two years of artistic and technical exploration.
Her debut video, “Beat of a Romance / Cha Cha Cha”, is more than a music release. It’s a handcrafted CG animation project where every movement, every light, every frame was shaped by people, not algorithms.

We used key-frame animation to give NORA a believable presence, working closely with dancers and choreographers to design her performance. No generative AI, just the expressive power of traditional animation.
To build her world, we turned Unreal Engine into a cinematic tool, creating immersive environments and dynamic lighting that respond to the rhythm and emotion of the music. The result is a dreamlike, post-digital space inspired by vaporwave aesthetics, reimagined in a contemporary key.

NORA isn’t just a character. She’s a creative statement. A pop icon that explores identity, alter egos and the future of digital expression, without dystopias and with a strong belief that technology should serve creativity, not replace it.

This is just the beginning. The project is designed to grow across platforms and formats, offering a new take on virtual popstars: not synthetic products, but cultural expressions shaped by human hands.

Game on! Maga Animation for Games is back from Gamescom 2025🕹️

From the 20th to 22nd August, in Cologne (Germany), our studio was at gamescom at the Italian Pavilion, organized by the Italian Trade Agency and the Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, together with IIDEA - Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association, the trade association representing the video game industry in Italy.

We attended as Maga Animation for Games, the division of our studio specialized in supporting creators, publishers and developers in the video game industry. There, we showcased our latest works, building connections with international professionals and fellow Italian companies, on a mission to innovate gaming✨

It’s always great meeting so many people from around the world sharing our big passion for video games 👾

We’re thrilled to announce that our animated short film, Lapo the Bunny Easter Egg, has won in the Best Animation category at the 23rd edition of the California Indies Festival!

On July 15th, our studio was bursting with joy and colors as we celebrated the summer and Mr. Men Little Miss Mini Adventures, the new animated series we produced for Sanrio🎉

This 12-episode web series brings the iconic Mr. Men Little Miss characters into a fresh, modern format, with short stories that highlight emotional intelligence and the fun of being uniquely you. From the very first storyboard to the final render, our team poured creativity, care, and a whole lot of color into every frame.
The series is available to watch on the official Mr. Men Little Miss YouTube channel.

To mark this exciting journey, we threw a cosy summer party at the studio in true Mr. Men Little Miss style! We celebrated with a big cake featuring the official series poster, surrounded by paper flowers and rainbow-colored decorations that echoed the joyful aesthetic of the show 🌈

The studio was filled with smiles, music and the pride of a team that gave its all.

A heartfelt thank you to Sanrio for the trust and collaboration, it’s been a true pleasure bringing this universe to life together 💫
