Think Sea Days Are Boring? 🚢

We definitely don't! 😂❤️

Today we're spending our second and final sea day aboard Sun Princess, and rather than sitting in one place, we're exploring more of this incredible ship.

There's coffee at Coffee Currents, a wander around some of the bars, restaurants and entertainment venues, sushi at Makoto Ocean, two quizzes at Princess Live! and even our first ever load of washing at sea! 🧺😂

We love sea days because they give you the chance to slow down and discover parts of the ship you might otherwise completely miss.

⭐ Our Best Italian Meal At Sea! 🇮🇹🚢

After our White Mountains Jeep Safari in Crete, Gemma and I returned to Sun Princess absolutely shattered.

So before dinner there was only one sensible thing to do...

Power nap! 😂

Thankfully we woke up because tonight we were dining at Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria.

What a fantastic experience. ❤️

The food, atmosphere and service were brilliant from beginning to end and, for us, this became our best Italian meal at sea.

It even came close to our favourite Italian restaurant experience in Sorrento - and that's saying something!

After dinner we headed to Good Spirits at Sea for one cocktail before finally admitting defeat and heading to bed. 🍸😂

🇬🇷 WHAT A VIEW! Our White Mountains Adventure 🚙⛰️

What an adventure this turned into!

Sun Princess arrived in Souda, Chania, but rather than spending the day close to the port, we'd independently booked a White Mountains Jeep Safari with Shore Excursions Group.

Our approximately 7½-hour excursion took us through traditional Cretan villages and high into the spectacular White Mountains.

Our guides were fantastic, the scenery was breathtaking and we finished with a lovely traditional Cretan meal. ❤️

There is quite a lot of time spent travelling in the Range Rover, so that's worth knowing – particularly if you suffer from travel sickness.

But those views... WOW! 😍⛰️

🎧 Our Best Night Yet On Sun Princess? 🚢

What a night this turned into! ❤️

After our first full sea day onboard Sun Princess, we got dressed up and headed to The Catch by Rudi for dinner.

We'd been looking forward to trying it and it certainly didn't disappoint.

The food, presentation and service were fantastic from beginning to end, and it became one of our favourite dining experiences of the cruise. 🐟🍽️

Then it was time for something Gemma and I absolutely love...

A Silent Disco! 😂🎧

There were three different music channels to choose from — red, green and blue — and you could switch between them whenever you wanted.

It starts off feeling slightly strange, but give everyone an hour and a few drinks and suddenly the whole place is singing and dancing! 😂💃

We finished the evening at our favourite bar onboard, O'Malley's Irish Pub. ☘️

The live singers were absolutely brilliant, the atmosphere was infectious and some passengers even got up and started Irish dancing!

Thankfully, we caught it all on camera.

☀️ Sea Day Done Right On Sun Princess! 🚢🍹

It's our first full sea day onboard Sun Princess, and after our late night dancing in The Dome, we definitely needed that lie-in! 😂

We started slowly with coffee and brunch before enjoying some sunshine and jacuzzi time.

But Gemma and I aren't very good at sitting around anymore...

After about an hour on the sunbeds, we were ready to explore! 😂

We discovered more of Sun Princess, tried some of the free activities on SkyDeck, played table tennis and co****le, stopped for lunch and eventually found ourselves relaxing at Promenade Bar with a cocktail overlooking the sea. 🍹🌊

Table tennis: Steve wins! 🏆
Co****le: Gemma wins! 🏆
Cocktails: We'll call that one a draw. 😂

That's what we're enjoying about sea days — you can make them as busy or as relaxing as you want.

🚢 What A Night On Sun Princess! 🍸😂

Our day exploring Palermo was over, but our night onboard Sun Princess was only just getting started!

First stop was Good Spirits at Sea, somewhere we'd never visited before.

What a great little discovery! 🍹

The cocktails were fantastic, the staff were brilliant and we definitely think this is one bar you shouldn't overlook onboard.

Then came the part we'd really been looking forward to...

🥩 Crown Grill!

We'd watched so many videos about this restaurant before travelling, so we were hoping it would live up to expectations.

It absolutely did. ❤️

Crab cake, French onion soup, filet mignon, desserts and ch*****ne - and some of the best service we've experienced.

It became our favourite meal of the cruise so far.

After dinner we explored more of Sun Princess at night before eventually ending up in The Dome.

It was VERY quiet when we arrived...

Until Gemma asked the DJ to play ABBA. 😂💃

I thought there was no chance.

Then Dancing Queen started playing and suddenly everybody seemed to appear on the dance floor!

We ended up staying until the party finished at 1am. 🎉

And perhaps the funniest part came afterwards when two slightly tipsy travel vloggers decided it would be a brilliant idea to film their Crown Grill review back in the cabin. 😂🍸

🇮🇹 Palermo Surprised Us! Our First Sun Princess Port Day 🚢

Our first port day onboard Sun Princess has taken us to Palermo, Sicily – and we decided to explore this one independently rather than book an organised excursion.

We picked up the Palermo sightseeing bus just outside the cruise port and headed towards the Royal Palace and Palermo Cathedral.

We'd hoped to visit both, but this is where we learnt a valuable lesson! 😂

The queues for the Royal Palace were huge and the cathedral rooftop had completely sold out. If we visited again, we'd definitely pre-book both.

But sometimes travel plans changing leads to something even better...

We ended up visiting Teatro Massimo instead and absolutely loved it. ❤️🎭

The building is stunning, we visited the Royal Box, heard the orchestra rehearsing and discovered its connection to The Godfather Part III.

We finished our day with some Sicilian food, gelato 🍨 and a walk through Palermo's lovely marina before returning to Sun Princess.

Today is the day we've been waiting for... Embarkation Day! 🎉

After spending the morning exploring Naples, it was finally time to board Princess Cruises' beautiful Sun Princess.

Everything from the embarkation process to our first speciality dining experience at Makato Ocean was fantastic. We also explored some of the ship, enjoyed the Sail Away Party, listened to brilliant live music and started discovering everything Sun Princess has to offer.

🚢 WE EXPLORED NAPLES BEFORE BOARDING SUN PRINCESS! 🇮🇹

Our embarkation window gave us plenty of time, so rather than heading straight to the ship, we decided to enjoy a few more hours in Naples.

We visited the magnificent Royal Palace and its gardens, saw Sun Princess waiting in the port below, experienced the amazing Maradona Quarter and finished with an honest visit to Castel Nuovo.

We also share where we left our luggage, what we paid and a few useful tips if you want to explore Naples before a cruise.

🇮🇹 Our Princess Cruises Adventure Begins! 🚢

What a day this turned out to be!

After an early start at Manchester Airport we were all set for Naples... until we found out there were strike delays in Italy.

For a while we genuinely wondered whether we'd make it on time to meet our apartment owner and private transfer.

Thankfully everything worked out perfectly.

Our apartment at Relais Castel Nuovo completely exceeded our expectations. The location couldn't have been any better and the huge balcony overlooking the cruise port was absolutely incredible.

Then came another unforgettable moment...

Our very first authentic pizza in Naples! 🍕🍺

Wow...

I can honestly say it was the best pizza we've ever eaten.

This vlog is the start of our brand-new Princess Cruises series aboard Sun Princess, and I'll be sharing every day of the cruise, every port, excursions, restaurants, bars, cabin tour, ship tour and lots of travel tips along the way.
