We are pleased to announce the second release on West Hill Music, the sub-label curated by Mystic Jungle, founder of Periodica Records, who over the past years has developed a distinctive sonic identity alongside a close circle of collaborators working from his studio located in the hills above Naples.

This project also functions as a platform for studio collaborations and features the voice of American singer Roxana, alongside guitar work by Igor Sekulović. The A-side, “Can’t Make You Out”, unfolds with a crepuscular mood and a laid-back, exotic atmosphere shaped by subtle funk-rock influences. It retains a lo-fi, analogue-driven character with nods to Mediterranean musical culture and 1980s synth-pop aesthetics. On the B-side, “Mountain River” takes a more stripped-down approach, built on lean electronic drum programming and a mutant funk structure. Sekulović’s guitar lines and Roxana’s recurring vocal hook sit within a minimal arrangement focused on texture and tonal detail.

Enrico Fierro, known as Milord, a daytime engineer and researcher of human mind states during dreaming, has collaborated for years with Periodica Records and co-produced projects such as Danger Boys and Space Garage. In “Perfect Crime”, he presents a nostalgic vision of twilight synth-pop, capturing an urban landscape alive at night and in constant motion, blending street soul and echoes of classic house with textured synths, 808 patterns, and subtle new wave influences.

West Hill Studio is the place where the sound that has defined all the productions and artistic projects connected to the Periodica Records label was developed.
Located in the hills of Naples, it’s a private recording studio immersed in a small woodland and isolated from the city. A small wooden lodge and vintage equipment made it possible to create and convey, through music and ideas, a precise musical aesthetic that transcends contemporaneity and current trends.
The catalogue is personally curated by Mystic Jungle - born Dario di Pace - music and executive producer and founder of both Periodica and Futuribile. Well known for a distinctive sound that has unpredictably ranged from mutant-disco to soft-rock and reggae-inflected explorations for over a decade, he now presents two new electronic funk/rock tracks in collaboration with Serbian guitarist Igor Sekulovič. A pair of deliberately raw cuts, with the B-side conceived as an homage to a seminal 1985 digital reggae riddim built from a preset on the Casiotone MT-40.

We are pleased to present the new LP on the Periodica catalogue. Onda Biloba will be available on January 9, 2026, in record stores worldwide. Wholesale pre-orders are now open via The Pusher Distribution, and fans can also pre-order directly through our Bandcamp channel.

Raffaele Arcella, known under the moniker Whodamanny, is a hyper-prolific producer and remixer who has been active for many years within the independent underground electronic scene and beyond. Closely associated with the Neapolitan label Periodica Records, he has released and co-produced numerous projects, and since 2023 he has been curating his own imprint, Biloba, conceived as a platform to carry forward the legacy of the Latin Italo-Disco trend that marked many Italian productions from the late 1980s through the 1990s.

“Recorded at his Biloba studio, Onda Biloba is a sunburst bounty of groove, with downtempo jams alive with searing fuzz leads, expressive vocal interplay and seascape synth solos giving way to deviant disco in a dayglo dreamscape. Loved up lyrical spells play against Hi-NRG hedonism while sunburnt saxophones scream, and subtropical nights are soundtracked by amalgamations of sultry summer samba and blazing funk fusion. Equatorial house beats move the body beneath a pan-cultural carnival parade and fantasy flutes fly over stretches of slow dubby dream balladry while elsewhere flashes of sax, drum, and piano create a body burning fire of sweat, movement, and motion.” (Words by Braden Balentine)

It has been less than a year since the dreamy 'Words of Love' single, yet Mystic Jungle is back with a new album of free-spirited forays into solar-sonic fantasy. Despite the short time between releases, however, Dario di Pace’s third LP, 'Sunset Breaker', has been in gestation for a long while and reflects an arduous journey through studio closures and multiple recording locations. It also shows the stylistic variety that results when a set of songs develops over several years. Despite this difficult journey, Mystic Jungle has produced a rich and multi-colored display of sounds and styles, resulting in his most diverse and adventurous musical narrative thus far. Standout dance tracks like “Secrets” and “Some Lovin'” feature disco beats and body-moving grooves, with searing guitars, sultry saxophones, and layers of loved-up lyrics and call-and-response vocals that add to the magical motion. Meanwhile, “Innervision” and “Twilight” draw inspiration from lovers rock and neon new-wave dub pop, where yearning vocals, ecstatic pixie hooks, and liquid fuzz leads intertwine with fantasy synths and exotic string instruments from faraway lands. On sunbaked, stoner tracks like “The Road” and “Get Me Higher,” Mystic Jungle blends harmonizing passages of 60s psychedelia, radiant summer soul, and low-down zoner jamming. Born of record collection deep dives and a longstanding friendship, the newest release on Periodica Records is "Electro Romantica", which finds and joining together as Somachrome. The duo posit an alternative reality where the autobahn connects Detroit to New York to Napoli, and where heady electro, Hi-NRG, and post-punk grooves merge with narcotic new wave, interstellar funk, and psychedelic rock. The result is an epic adventure equally suited for dancefloor mania as it is for coastal highway cruising, with shades on and a leather jacket closed against the mysterious forces of the night.
