We're wrapping up the Separ concert in Slovakia by going through the technical setup. Monitor engineer Peter “Junior” Vrbjar elaborates:

"For In-Ear Monitoring, we used 16 channels of Wisycom IEM systems, which provided solid support and easily covered all required areas with significant headroom. Specifically, we deployed 10 channels of MTK952, 6 channels of MTK982, 2 CSI16T combiners, and 4 passive LBN2 antennas.

For the wireless microphones, we used Shure Axient receivers, with their antenna inputs connected to a Wisycom MAT288 antenna matrix. Three pairs of LFA receiving antennas were distributed across three zones – SL, SR, and backstage – ensuring consistent and reliable signal coverage throughout all necessary areas.

Separ’s concert proved to be an excellent large-scale test, and Wisycom performed flawlessly. Even in the demanding conditions of a major open-air show, the system delivered the reliability and stability we depend on for projects of this scale."

We recently shared our antennas at a stadium before a concert and promised to reveal more details. Well, it was the Bratislava football stadium where Slovak rap star, Separ, was powered by Wisycom!

The concert attracted 30,000 spectators, making it the most attended domestic rap show in Slovakia’s history and one of the largest solo shows ever held by a Slovak artist.

This production brought several technical challenges, which led our partner, G-Tec Professional, to choose Wisycom equipment for IEM and antennas. AMEX AUDIO Slovakia handled the stage setup, including a 60-meter-wide LED wall at the back, a large catwalk with a B-stage and five entry points for performers. Therefore, there was a need for reliable signal coverage not only across the main stage and behind the LED wall, but also at the FOH position, where one of the artists performed several times.

In this video case study, we're going through a hypothetical case study in a broadcast scenario, but it could also be applied to any other scenario with the need for multiple locations tied into a single overall system.

But we're not only talking about the RF over Fiber part. Surrounding the RFoF section of a full system are of course other elements, so we break it into - and go over - these four main parts: Transmitter, Antenna, Distribution and Receiver.
