Jaan Roose is an Estonian slackliner who is among the absolute best in the world, having been crowned slackline world champion three times already.

Recently, he completed the Redbull Timeline challenge in Poland where he walked some 500 meters along a narrow, flexible ribbon suspended 180 meters above the ground, starting from the Millennium Clock on the Palace of Culture and Science and ending on the Varso Tower terrace.

Along the way, he needed reliable and, obviously, wireless communication lines from start to finish. To make sure he had a clear signal throughout the walk, our MTP60 with MRK980 handled the mic signal and MTK982 and MPR60 took care of the in-ears.

Zeigermann_Audio took part in a hands-on workshop on hidden microphone techniques at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt, Germany.

The primary focus was on practical work on set and the question of how to hide lav mics cleanly and unobtrusively, which solutions work for different costumes and shooting situations, and how to avoid typical problems such as rustling noises or poorly placed bodypack transmitters.

Students were able to try out various professional setups, including tools from Bubblebee Industries, URSA, Hide-A-Mic, DPA (4061 & 6061) - and of course our MTP61 transmitters.

The workshop was conducted by lecturer for original sound Antoine Schweitzer, with technical and organizational support from laboratory engineer Till Gerneth.

In short: RFoF technology operates by converting electrical RF signals into optical signals typically at the antenna pick up point. These optical signals are transmitted through fiber cables—sometimes over tens of kilometers—before being converted back to electrical RF signals to feed the receivers.

Symphony Audio Solutions shared these great photos of the technical setup at the Schools Singing Day with the Oslo Filharmonic.

They supplied all wired and wireless mics, in-ears and monitor mixer for 4 lead singers, 3 guest artists, the conductor, the host and of course the orchestra.
