A few days ago we had the opportunity to guide a group of from the Università degli Studi di Palermo into a historic to show them laser scanning in action.

Michael, Giuseppe, Chiara, Carlo and Pietro from Deal Studio' team demonstrated how the scanner captures millions of points in seconds, creating a millimetre-accurate digital map of the entire structure. Pipes, unreachable windows, wall deformations – all surveyed in real time.

Experiences like this highlight the value of hands-on knowledge transfer. Teaching students not just the technology, but the methodology and precision we bring to digital surveying, was deeply rewarding in ways that extend well beyond any single project.
