Vii aspettiamo per il lancio del nuovo volume di Peter Bialobrzeski, dedicato a Palermo e parte del suo progetto fotografico in 50 capitoli. Un anno fa, durante la sua residenza con 89books, il fotografo ha esplorato la città, catturando la bellezza decadente delle strade e dei vicoli di Palermo, dove la figura umana è sempre presente, ma mai al centro della sua attenzione.

E, in fin dei conti, qual è il suo verdetto sulla città? Scopriremo insieme in dialogo con Kateryna Filyuk (89books) e Claudio Gulli (Palazzo Butera).

Fresh put of press🔥: in his analogue shots Fedir Monastyrenko depicts the underground youth and rebellion spirit in his hometown of Sumy, Ukraine.

“This photobook reflects my journey of growing up in this border city shaped by art, music and underground youth culture”. Shot on mostly Soviet and early Nikon film cameras, these images transfer beautifully the spirit of quirkiness and youth creativity in the 1990s and early 2000s provincial Ukraine.

“This format has allowed me to express my sense of time, shaped by the profound challenges and heavy losses that began in 2014.”

What follows is a merciless gaze at our present moment, spoken entirely through bodies: painted and wooden, almost human and barely human, all of them pressing forward with an unbearable physicality — as if the flesh knows something the era refuses to name.
