A night of memory, emotion and shared stories ♥️✨

On July 22, Sniper Alley – To My Brother was screened under the summer sky in the beautiful village of Palazzuolo sul Senio, Tuscany, in a deeply moving evening filled with attention, emotion and meaningful encounters.

Seeing Džemil’s story reach people in a place so far from Sarajevo reminded us once again that memory has no borders.

Thank you to everyone who came, listened, shared their thoughts and felt this story with us.
Because some stories are not meant to remain in the past.
They are meant to be remembered, shared, and carried forward.

Creative Motion is deeply honored to announce that our documentary Sniper Alley – To My Brother will be screened this June in Chicago as part of the prestigious Bosnian-Herzegovinian Diasporic Conference — an important international gathering dedicated to Bosnian culture, memory, identity, dialogue, and the strength of the Bosnian diaspora around the world.

Being included in this meaningful program represents a truly important moment for our production company and for the journey of the film. Over the years, we have encountered an extraordinary community committed to preserving memory through art, culture, and collective reflection — values that deeply resonate with the vision behind our work.

Sniper Alley – To My Brother tells the story of Džemil Hodžić and his search for memory through the photographs of the siege of Sarajevo, exploring childhood in war, loss, resilience, and the transformative power of art against violence and oblivion.

Following its international premiere at the Sarajevo Film Festival, the documentary continues its international path, and we are proud that it will now become part of this important platform for dialogue and remembrance in Chicago.

This award-winning documentary follows Džemil Hodžić, whose brother Amel was killed by a sniper during the Siege of Sarajevo at just 16 years old. Driven by grief and love, Džemil embarked on an extraordinary mission to gather photographs of the siege from the world's greatest war photojournalists. Winner of Best Documentary at Glocal DOC 2025 and an International Première at the Sarajevo Film Festival, this film is a testament to resilience and memory.

"Il lungometraggio, insignito del prestigioso premio per il miglior documentario al Glocal DOC 2025 di Varese, nasce proprio dal progetto di Hodzic “SniperAlley.Photo”, il quale si propone, grazie alle fotografie scattate da importanti reporter di guerra, di tenere viva la memoria della crudeltà quotidiana sperimentata dai cittadini di Sarajevo durante l’Assedio perpetuato dalle forze armate serbo-bosniache tra il 1992 e il 1996. Un quadriennio di sofferenza atroce per il popolo bosniaco musulmano, il cui bilancio è di oltre 11mila vittime, di cui 1.601 bambini. Era uno di questi ultimi Amel Hodzic, fratello maggiore di Dzemil, assassinato all’età di 16 anni da un cecchino la mattina del 3 maggio 1995. Il progetto del lungometraggio è dedicato a lui e a tutto il popolo bosniaco, di cui vuole essere celebrato lo spirito indomito dimostrato nel superare i traumi della guerra civile, come spiegato dai registi della pellicola Cristiana Lucia Grilli e Francesco Toscani, presenti alla prima insieme a Dzemil. A completare la cornice anche volti autorevoli come Mario Boccia, fotoreporter e autore delle immagini originali del film, e Nicole Corritore, giornalista di Osservatorio Balcani Caucaso Transeuropa, introdotti alla platea da Maurizio del Bufalo, coordinatore del Festival Del Cinema dei Diritti Umani di Napoli.

Sabato 29 novembre, al Teatro Area Forcella di Napoli, si è tenuta la Prima Nazionale di “Sniper Alley – To My Brother”, prodotta da Creative Motion e presentata nell’ambito del Festival Del Cinema dei Diritti Umani di Napoli.
Desideriamo esprimere la nostra più sincera gratitudine al pubblico che ha partecipato con attenzione, sensibilità e coinvolgimento emotivo, rendendo questa serata un momento di grande valore umano e culturale.

Ringraziamo in modo particolare:
• Džemil Hodžić, protagonista del film e fondatore del progetto SniperAlley.Photo, per il suo contributo umano e testimoniale;
• Mario Boccia, fotogiornalista e voce fondamentale nella narrazione del film, per la sua competenza e la sua presenza sempre lucida e appassionata;

Un ringraziamento speciale va allo spazio Associazione Annalisa Durante, che ha ospitato la serata. Un luogo significativo, la cui storia si interseca simbolicamente con quella del nostro film:
Annalisa aveva 14 anni, Amel ne aveva 16. Due adolescenti a cui la vita è stata strappata dalla stessa violenza cieca, che muta volto e storia ma non la sua essenza, e che continua a ferire proprio ciò che dovrebbe essere inviolabile.

“Sniper Alley – To My Brother” nasce per custodire la memoria, ma anche per generare dialogo, responsabilità e consapevolezza. La partecipazione di sabato ci conferma quanto il cinema possa ancora essere uno spazio di incontro e riflessione condivisa.
