Whatweare is the second album by Giuseppe Fantini, following Everyday, released by Kaczynski Editions in 2023. Whatweare is both a question and an answer at the same time. What are we? We are what we are; we are what we have been and what we have been made to become. Sound, too, is what we are and what we have been.
A retro-futurist musical vision: a sonic past listened to, chewed up, swallowed, and consciously spat back out into short songs—true to the classic pop music format. An electronic drum beats with obsessive rhythms. Guitars, keyboards, and synthesizers sound dirty, minimal, and grounded. A voice, drenched in reverb, proclaims what we are.
All guilty.

The first time I listened to Zerogroove’s new album, I immediately thought of *Deerskin*, Quentin Dupieux’s insane film, and I realized it was time for Dissipatio to explore new frontiers—those of the most twisted, unhinged IDM, which only someone like Giuseppe Fantini could create. For Dissipatio, this is the album of the summer—those hot, muggy days where sweat blends with the hallucinations brought on by Zerogroove’s spasmodic rhythms. So all I can say is: *Enjoy the ride!*
