I VIAGGI DELL’IMPERATORE ADRIANO
✅ Sappiamo che Adriano «era così amante dei viaggi che desiderava informarsi di persona su tutto ciò che aveva letto riguardo a tutte le parti del mondo». Cassio Dione racconta che l’imperatore «osservò e indagò personalmente assolutamente tutto».

✅ Adriano fu a Roma e nella Villa Adriana di Tivoli per brevi periodi fra un viaggio all'altro. Fece tre viaggi che durarono anni, visitando tutte le principali città e province dell'impero..
✅ Il primo (121 al 123 d.C.) nelle province occidentali Gallia, Germania, fino alla Britannia. Durante il secondo viaggio (123-125 d.C.) visitò invece le province asiatiche e così pure nel terzo, fra il 128 ed 134 d.C. che incluse anche l'Egitto dove Antinoo morì improvvisamente.

✅ Hadrian was in Rome and in his Villa in Tivoli for a short time between his journeys. He made three long journeys, which lasted years, visiting all the major cities and provinces of the empire.
✅ The first (121-123 AD), to the western provinces of Gaul, Germany, and as far as Britain. During his second journey (123-125 AD) he visited the Asian provinces instead, as well as during his third jurney, between 128 and 134 AD, which also included Egypt where Antinous suddenly died.
