One year ago, one of our favourite photos and moments of all times featured in .
An image so special to us found its way to print in such an iconic magazine and it all makes sense.
But the best part is that it shines light on a beautiful soulful moment between two parents and their daughter minutes before she walked down the aisle. And its moments like these that make this life make sense.

What a way to end 2022 and the incredible year of weddings it was: what a trek it is to go all the way to the Bahamas to celebrate with .skeele and and be a part of their glorious sun filled week on Green Turtle Cay.
It takes more effort to come to a destination wedding but they also are our favourite as you leave with a great set of new friends and the feeling you have captured something truly special.

Getting to do something fun the morning of your wedding doesn’t have to be just for the boys! I sure didn’t mind waking up before sunrise to hang out with and her gang of mermaids; a refreshing and epic start before a very busy day ahead.

Remember the Mother’s Day giveaway? was one of the two nz winners thanks to her sister . Not long after she found out she was pregnant so we waited it out a bit and last weekend I went up to Tairua to photograph her on film (as you know!) and it looked amazing. We created some simple magic in just 20min.

I had a long winded text written but we all have read enough. So I’ll keep it to this simple message: just love each other even if it means stay away from those you care about, stay stuck inside, feel uncertain, limit your freedom. We are all in this together and most of us don’t have it as hard as others, and I’m thinking of this of those who have lost someone or those selfless health professionals who risk their lives to save ours. And if you can safely hug someone, do. If you’re alone, get in touch. No need to do this alone even in isolation.

The moments I love the most in my work is all those in-between and it always feel so amazing to be asked to take part in more than just that wedding day. I often say the wedding is an excuse for something more important and a bigger story. And it so is.

Sometimes to be better at your craft, you need to look beyond your normal day to day and get excited again. I have found it certainly truer now more than ever with the recent struggles and it also has helped me recentre on what makes my heart skip a beat when I run out of energy and time to feel it matters to me that I exist.
In any darkness, I search for what brings me light so I can be more present for my family and my bubblerock people.
