The move comes after two successful editions of The Tuscan Times, a six-monthly supplement to The Florentine, in which expats and the region’s international community detail their real Tuscan lives in words and photos. Visit Prato was founded in 2011 by Luca Tempestini, who was aware of the importance of social media and the internet for territorial promotion. His vision was to attract foreign and Italian tourism to Prato through these channels, a vision that The Florentine continues. Director of The Florentine Marco Badiani, upon announcing his company’s decision to manage Visit Prato, commented, ‘Prato is an authentic city that offers a genuine experience to all those who are curious to discover a contemporary way of being Tuscan. After 10 years of experience publishing The Florentine and 2 seasons of The Tuscan Times, our media company is ready to expand and offer a genuine, deeper experience of Tuscany and its towns, starting with Prato.’

It’s the 3rd edition of Aprto – Aperture del contemporaneo a Prato, a summer night where seven spaces across the city open their doors for exhibitions, performances, and installations.
It’s been a whole year since the soft opening of my studio, and finally there is a chance to welcome everybody back as part of this very special initiative!
My studio mate .s.maryangel and I are honored to be part of the amazing lineup of the night and will welcome you to our Open Studio “A Summer Night’s Dream: Sweat + Asphalt”.
Come see us in this magic summer heat, hang out and have fun at our Atelier in Via Montalese 69 in Prato from 17:00 to 23:00 we’ll be sweating it out together!
“Aprto” is an anagram of “Prato” — a twisted, hard-to-pronounce word that reflects the unconventional ways these spaces engage with the local territory.

Repost• 🌿✨ Lo sapevate che i chiassini erano gli antichi percorsi pedonali che attraversavano la città? Spazi stretti ma vitali, pieni di storia e passaggi quotidiani, che oggi tornano a risplendere con il progetto: “Che Chiassino!”
Due chiassini storici, infatti, – Vicolo Fior di Vetta e Vicolo de’ Gherardacci – sono stati riqualificati con nuove luci, piante ornamentali e installazioni decorative per restituire bellezza e dignità a questi piccoli grandi luoghi del centro.
📍Sono percorsi che collegano luoghi della cultura e della quotidianità – come i teatri, la moschea, le vie principali del centro – e che ora raccontano una nuova storia, fatta di cura, attenzione e riscoperta.
🔁 Un intervento che unisce decoro urbano e valorizzazione dei luoghi, per rendere più bella e vivibile la nostra città, anche nei suoi angoli più nascosti.

Repost 🏳🌈🌈 Ieri a Prato è successa una cosa potentissima.
Dopo 22 anni è tornata tra le strade del centro storico la bandiera della pace più grande del mondo. L’enorme bandiera di 1,3km di lunghezza e 13 metri di larghezza è stata dispiegata come simbolo di pace, ma anche di collettività e unità cittadina.
Un simbolo sicuramente scenografico per le strade del centro che le ha invase in un serpentone di colori e persone pronte a dare una mano per far sventolare a gran voce un messaggio chiaro e potente.

IN AUTO / Prato è raggiungibile attraverso la A1 Milano Napoli e la A11 Firenze Pisa Nord.
• Arrivando da ovest (Pisa, Lucca, Montecatini, Pistoia) il casello migliore per raggiungere la zona è quello di Prato Ovest, e da lì seguire le indicazioni per il centro storico.
• Arrivando da est (Firenze Ovest o dal raccordo con la A1 di Firenze Nord) il casello migliore è quello di Prato Est e da lì seguire le indicazioni per il centro storico.
DOVE PARCHEGGIARE / PARCHEGGIO DEL SERRAGLIO (450 posti a pochi metri da Piazza Duomo e Piazza Mercatale) PARCHEGGIO PIAZZA DEL MERCATO NUOVO: poco fuori dal centro storico, a 900 m da Piazza del Duomo, dalle ore 20:00 è gratis. PARCHEGGIO PIAZZA MERCATALE: in centro storico, 500 m da Piazza del Duomo, dalle ore 20:00 il parcheggio è gratis. PARCHEGGIO PORTA FIORENTINA: situato in Via Arcivescovo Martini, poco fuori dal centro storico, 750 m da Piazza del Duomo, dalle ore 20:00 il parcheggio è gratis.
IN TRENO / Il centro storico di Prato è facilmente raggiungibile dalla stazione di Prato Porta al Serraglio, situata a cento metri da Piazza del Duomo. In alternativa anche la stazione di Prato Centrale permette l’arrivo in Piazza Mercatale e Piazza del Duomo, distanti cinque minuti a piedi.
