This piece takes ensembles on a musical journey through Chicago, exploring its history, architecture and spectacular views. From the city's fiery history to its extraordinary skyscrapers and endless streets, to the breathtaking view from the 96th floor of the John Hancock Building, the composition combines technique and imagination in a lively and engaging musical narrative.

Taking part in this challenge means putting yourself to the test, competing with other musicians and discovering your potential. Each performance is an opportunity to grow, refine your interpretation and leave your mark on the international stage of the Flicorno d'Oro.

In this composition, Otto M. Schwarz celebrates Gustave Eiffel's extraordinary architectural feat, transforming it into a musical tale that spans history, innovation and beauty.

With its imposing sounds and moments of refined elegance, the piece captures the visionary power of an era and transforms it into pure emotion. It is a tribute to modernity, French culture and the spirit that drives every great achievement.

A piece that will test the technique, expressiveness and interpretative sensitivity of the First Category ensembles, reminding us that every participation in an international competition is in itself a great achievement: an opportunity to test oneself, surpass oneself and leave a mark.

Inspired by John Donne's poetry and works that explore jealousy in its many nuances, this composition by Jacob de Haan, president of the jury for the 2026 Competition, takes the listener on an emotional journey through pain, anger and madness.

From the silent torment evoked by Edvard Munch's painting Jealousy in the Garden to the refined allusions to Pierre Certon's Renaissance chanson Je ne l'ose dire, the work intertwines painting, poetry and music in an intense, engaging and technically demanding sound narrative.

A piece that challenges, excites and will put the performers of the Superior Category of the Flicorno d'Oro 2026 to the test.

An intense work that celebrates the power of life and the courage of those who face illness. Three movements that recount fragility, faith and rebirth: a musical journey that leads from darkness to light, between atonality and harmony, pain and hope.

This is also what the Flicorno d'Oro is all about: a moment in which music becomes a vehicle for fundamental values such as the protection of life and nature, while supporting new creativity for wind orchestras thanks to collaboration with prestigious institutions.

🎺 A Concert for Symphonic Band, by Pedro Salinas Robles, winner of the 33rd Corciano International Composition Competition, will be the compulsory piece for the Excellence Category of the 26th edition of the Flicorno d'Oro, scheduled to take place in Riva del Garda from 27 to 29 March 2026.

Introducing 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗼 𝗱’𝗢𝗿𝗼 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹, the brand-new section dedicated to young talents of wind bands. 🎺

Here, young European musicians take center stage on one of the most prestigious band contest stages in Europe.

Two paths, one passion:
🎼 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 – average age up to 15 years (grade 1–1,5)

One of today’s most performed composers for concert band, Jacob de Haan (Heerenveen, 1959) is internationally renowned for works such as Oregon, Ross Roy, Ammerland, The Book of Urizen, and La Storia. His music—expressive, accessible, and often inspired by landscapes and epic tales—is played at festivals and contests all over the world.

Beyond composing, he is also a respected guest conductor and adjudicator at major wind band competitions across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Australia.
