๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐๐ (๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐จ), the debut album by Italian harpist Valerio Lisci on Extended Place, is OUT today โจ
The album brings together three major twentieth-century works for solo harp: Carlos Salzedoโs ๐ฝ๐๐ก๐ก๐๐๐, Heinz Holligerโs ๐๐ง๐ฬ๐ก๐ช๐๐๐ช๐ข, ๐ผ๐ง๐๐ค๐จ๐ค ๐ช๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐จ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ and Ernst Kลenekโs ๐๐๐ง๐ฅ ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ฉ๐, ๐๐ฅ. ๐ญ๐ฑ๐ฌ.
Built around inherited forms, ancient paths that cross musical history, these works are reimagined through the language of the twentieth century. Like three panels of a single triptych, they reveal the harp as a meeting point between memory and reinvention.
Salzedoโs ๐ฝ๐๐ก๐ก๐๐๐ brings the harp into a world of virtuosic energy and shifting colours, revealing the instrumentโs theatrical force and expressive range. Holligerโs ๐๐ง๐ฬ๐ก๐ช๐๐๐ช๐ข, ๐ผ๐ง๐๐ค๐จ๐ค ๐ช๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐จ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ transforms historical forms into a fragile and intensely concentrated modern soundscape. Kลenekโs ๐๐๐ง๐ฅ ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ฉ๐, ๐๐ฅ. ๐ญ๐ฑ๐ฌ projects the classical idea of the sonata into a lucid, modern language.
With ๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐๐ (๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐จ), Valerio Lisci opens a personal journey through some of the defining legacies of twentieth-century music, revealing the solo harp as a powerful, expressive voice.
Recorded in 2019 at Utopia Hall, Haute รcole de Musique de Lausanne, this is the first official release of the recording.
