“Salve, signore. Ha cambio per cinquenta?”

I don’t even know if ‘cambio’ was the correct word for change or sukli in Italian and I only started Duolingo lessons two weeks before this trip. The kind gentleman said “si” and I got my gelato for a price that I would say is cheaper than those in gelaterias on the touristy side of Rome. Yey!

Language learning is very much part of my pre-travel routine since 2017. (Yes, I’m a kid who once tried to learn Cantonese for a trip to Hong Kong) and I also think it should be it everyone’s routine as well. I’m confident that language knowledge will turn out to be useful.
