ℹ️ It's not like that anymore!!!
⛲ Now the Trevi Fountain is shining again, the water is there where it needs to be, you can go to admire it and toss your coin making your wish!

⚠️ The only change, which we like, is that now access is restricted (400 visitors at time) so you can enjoy its view more quietly!

📸 These photos are from early December 2024 when you could walk on a walkway mounted directly inside the fountain basin.

🤔 Some people have criticized it, but to us it seemed like a nice opportunity to get a vantage point on the fountain's sculptural details that cannot be seen from a distance! 👀🥰

The BEFANA!
In Italy on 6th January we use to celebrate this old lady (witch-like) who delivers gifts to children during the night of January 5.
🍫🍬🍭 Sweets and treats to children who have behaved well during the past year.
⚫ Coal to the others! 😅

Rome's festive season comes to an end on 6 January, a national public holiday in Italy, with the arrival of La Befana in Piazza Navona in the city centre.

🚪😇 So, today was the day!
On 5th Januar Pope Francis opened the Holy Door of the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls and it was the last of the five Holy Doors.
The Jubilee year began on December 24 and will last until 6th January 2026.

⏩ A Holy Door is an entrance door located inside the Pope's main basilica in Rome.

🐺 Wolfie visited the Basilica during his Roman vacation in June 2024, he did not expect such beautiful architecture, the wonderful colonnade and cloister. The mosaics are mind-blowing and the interior of the church is simply majestic!
There is also an interesting archaeological site to visit!

ℹ️ It is not on a tourist route, but it is definitely worth a visit even if you are not religious. The area offers many interesting places and museums off the usual routes, ask us what to see nearby if you are curious!

❤️❤️ Here the BEARrthday boys pose having one of the most breathtaking views of the ROMAN FORUM behind them (our favorite, actually!)

😅😅 Don't panic!! Tito wasn't sliding down as it may seem, he just wasn't standing still for a moment. He was staggering because he immediately wanted to take Orso to visit the 😁 which we highly recommend you to do when in Rome! ❤️

🥰 I think I have found my favorite place in Rome!
📸 During my Roman Holiday, I visited many historical places and archaeological sites and loved them all; I had many experiences here living like the locals thanks to !
❤️ But this, ooooh!!! This place stole my heart!

ℹ️ The CARACALLA BATHS (some of the best preserved imperial buildings) are the perfect place to spend your time away from the crowds, in a wonderful natural and open-air setting with beautiful ancient (very ancient) walls and mosaics to see!

⛲ In addition, you can enjoy an extraordinary water show! (Last picture here!)

🐺 I'm Wolfie, official mascot for 🚴🏻‍♀️💕 and this is me posing for Plush Go Travel's paparazzi during my Roman Holiday in June 2024! 📸

❓Where am I?
ℹ️ We’re in a place that, within just a few meters, encapsulates centuries of history. Why?
🔴 First, this was a mandatory stop on the pilgrimage route to the Vatican, crossing the Ponte Sant’Angelo.
🔴 Second, this area was home to Via dei Banchi Vecchi and Via dei Banchi Nuovi, the stomping grounds of medieval and Renaissance bankers.
🔴 Here you’ll spot a marble inscription that reads in solemn Latin: “HUC TIBER ACCESSIT SET TURBIDUS HINC CITO CESSIT ANNO DOMINI MCCLXXVII IND VI M NOVEMB DIE VII ECCL A VACANTE.” Translation? “Here came the Tiber, but turbid, and here it quickly retreated in the year of Our Lord 1277, sixth indiction, seventh day of November, during a vacant papacy.”

🌟 But the thing we love most is the ceiling painted blue with golden stars and the fact that many people pass by it without noticing this small but fantastic arch! 🤩

🔎 This is one of the countless little mysteries tucked away in Rome, waiting to be uncovered simply by strolling through its streets.

🕍 Here we are! The Jubilee is going to begin with the Pope opening the Holy Door in St. Peter Basilica!

You can see Wolfie, one of our VIP guest, checking the Holy Door in "San Paolo fuori le mura", one of the four basiliche (main churches), in order to guarantee everything works fine! This one will be open on 5th January 2025.
