A Budget Vacation in Riga 🇱🇻💸

Most people think Northern Europe is expensive. I did too.

But here's what my trip to Riga actually cost me 👇

🚌 FlixBus from Tallinn to Riga: 12€

🛏️ Accommodation (Blue Bird Boutique Hostel): 30€

🍽️ Food (Brunch + Dinner): 77.50€

🚋 Public Transport (90-minute ticket): 1.50€

🎁 Souvenir: 4€

So, that's just 125€ for a trip to one of Europe's most underrated capitals, including transportation, accommodation, food, public transport, and a souvenir.

Not bad for a Baltic city filled with medieval streets, colorful churches, and great food.

Be honest, what number were you expecting before reading this?

One Day In Riga 🇱🇻

Riga is perfect for a one-day city trip if you know where to start.

This itinerary takes you through Vecrīga Old Town, Town Hall Square, St. Peter’s Church, the House of the Black Heads, hidden medieval streets, colorful Orthodox churches, local food, parks, and sunset by the Daugava River.

The best part? You don’t need taxis. Riga is walkable, public transport is cheap, and a 90-minute ticket costs only 1.50€.

Before this gets too popular… you should know about it 👀

Episode 3 of my Underrated Cities series.

A Baltic capital with medieval streets, Soviet history, colorful churches, frozen rivers, and one of the most underrated Old Towns in Europe.

I got here by bus from Tallinn, and honestly… this city felt way calmer, colder, and more atmospheric than I expected.

Not loud. Not crowded. Not trying too hard.

Just quietly beautiful.

The city name is at the end of the video.

Comment “BALTIC” if you guessed it before the reveal 👀

THINGS I WISH SOCIAL MEDIA TOLD ME BEFORE VISITING RIGA 🇱🇻

Riga is not just Old Town.

Yes, Vecrīga is beautiful, but the city gets way more interesting when you walk beyond the postcard streets.

It’s also much quieter than social media makes it look. That cold, empty Baltic atmosphere? Honestly, that’s part of the experience.

Winter makes Riga harder, but also more cinematic. The streets look beautiful, but the cold slows everything down fast.

This is not a city you rush for famous attractions. Riga works better when you stop chasing spots and just walk.

And the best part? Public transport is actually cheap. A 90-minute ticket costs only 1.50€.

Save this before your Riga trip and follow along for more travel tips ✨
