the side of Mostar that doesn’t make it to instagram 🇧🇦

the old town might be one of the most beautiful places i’ve seen in Europe. but walk five minutes past it and the postcard drops away, buildings still scarred with bullet holes, shells of homes left standing since a war that ended barely 30 years ago.

most people rush in on a day trip from Croatia, photograph the bridge, and leave without ever seeing this part. i’d say do the opposite. wander past the pretty streets into the real, lived-in city, even the corners that aren’t polished for a feed.

not to put you off Mostar, the exact opposite. to make sure you actually see it 🤍
