Four Flies Records

Four Flies Records Italian golden age soundtracks & brand new music with a cinematic feel.

Four Flies was founded in 2015 as a record label aiming to rescue from oblivion vintage Italian soundtracks and library music, especially obscure or underrated works that were never circulated outside the Italian film, radio and television industry of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Like film-and-music archaeologists, the people at Four Flies have rediscovered, re

stored, and made available to listeners all over the globe lesser-known or previously unreleased music by the likes of Piero Umiliani, Alessandro Alessandroni, Giuliano Sorgini and Silvano D’Auria, contributing significant additions to their discographies. More recently, the label has been taking the reissue and vintage niche beyond its confines to build a bridge between yesterday and today, between heritage composers and contemporary artists.

🆕 DIGITAL RELEASE

Out today: the first-ever digital release of the legendary “Disco Fashion” – one of the rarest, most obscure, and mysterious records ever produced in Italy. The original 1979 pressing is so rare, it’s nearly impossible to find.

Originally recorded under the enigmatic name Electric Machine, this lost disco-funk / Italo-disco gem stayed in the shadows for decades — until a limited vinyl reissue in 2018 (via “Erezioni”)… and now, it’s finally available digitally for the first time.

Its sound channels the raw energy of the late-‘70s DIY cosmic scene, with groovy basslines, psychedelic synths, and vaguely futuristic disco atmospheres — already hinting at the dawn of Italo.

🔪 NEW PRE-ORDER 🔪

The timing of this announcement is no coincidence. On August 26, 1975, exactly fifty years ago today, Andrea Bianchi’s N**e per l’assassino was unleashed in Italian cinemas — the sexiest, sleaziest, and most unhinged giallo film of the decade.

Today, half a century after that explosive mix of eroticism, blood, and pop delirium, we’re proud to announce something that seemed utterly impossible. The original soundtrack by Berto Pisano and Elsio Mancuso, long considered lost to time, has been found. And its first-ever release is coming very, very soon (on October 17th), in the form of a lavish LP edition, meticulously remastered from the original 8-track tapes.

For those who trusted us these last few weeks and pre-ordered the LP blindly, the mystery is finally revealed! You secured an unbelievably exclusive edition, complete with unique collectibles reserved for you only.

Thank you for trusting us unconditionally and embracing our blind pre-order adventure!

For everyone else: the standard edition is available for pre-order starting NOW! Don’t miss your chance to grab a copy of this incredible score - a true manifesto of the Italian erotic sound, but also a testament to the skill with which Italians could lift American funk and imbue it with a unique, visionary spin that was entirely their own.

Bringing this music back into the light is an act of love — a forbidden dream made real!

🪩 NEW DIGITAL RELEASE 🪩

Alix Brown sings Louis Fontaine’s Tormento gets a sultry after midnight makeover in Pearz’s Notte Italiana Remix by Four Flies Records, a sensual reimagining steeped in Italo disco heat and late-night pulse.

Inspired by the sounds of Cerrone and Cicciolina, it’s built for smoke-filled clubs and stolen glances across the dance floor.

With shimmering synths and hypnotic grooves, Pearz brings vintage European cool into the now.

Final mix and master by Davide Cinci at Sound Factory in Los Angeles, Notte Italiana leaves a trace like lipstick on glass — a stylish echo of nights you’re not supposed to remember, but never quite forget.

🗺️ NEW DIGITAL RELEASE 🗺️

Behind Around the World lies a fascinating identity charade, typical of the era’s music publishing conventions. The official credit goes to Max Raffeng, but that was just a male moniker imposed on Maria Augusta Bruni by industry norms; in fact, the true creative force behind this music was almost certainly her husband, the visionary composer Fabio Fabor.

These previously unreleased recordings from the 1960s are now attributed to him. They delineate a musical itinerary that traverses the vibrant rhythms of gypsy swing and French jazz manouche, venturing into Eastern European melodies, as well as Latin and Mexican traditions. Spinet, vibraphone, and, above all, the violin take center stage in the solo sections, soaring elegantly above a sophisticated instrumental backdrop.

Around the World is a paradox: a sonic world tour conceived within the confines of a single, legendary studio, Fonoroma.

🌊 NEW DIGITAL RELEASE 🌊

Imagine summertime Italy during its economic boom: buzzing beaches, brand-new dreams, and cities blissfully emptied as everyone flocked to the coast. Fabio Fabor’s Tempo d’Estate is a sonic postcard, capturing the everyday hopes and soaring desires of those golden years.

Originally composed and arranged for Italian films and TV, the album brings together previously unreleased recordings from the early to mid-60s. Fabor’s luxurious orchestral arrangements are pure joy, with airy, cheerful melodies dancing over enchanting blends of strings, electric guitars, and flutes. He masterfully weaves jazz, Latin, and bossa nova into sweet, optimistic easy listening – the kind of music that feels like a warm, hopeful, invigorating sea breeze.

Tempo d’Estate transports you to a simpler, brighter era when the future felt wide open and anything seemed possible. Dive in and let the good times roll!
