🔍Le sponde del Mediterraneo sono attraversate da tumulti e cambiamenti che potrebbero, nel volgere di poco tempo, orientare il futuro del Mare nostrum. E dunque, il nostro futuro.
A due anni dai tragici attentati del 7 ottobre, Gaza continua a essere sotto i riflettori, con il discusso piano Trump che – nonostante i limiti e taluni aspetti controversi – pare per la prima volta aprire qualche tenue spiraglio verso il negoziato e il cessate il fuoco. E mentre in Cisgiordania la politica di espansione degli insediamenti prosegue apparentemente senza sosta, Israele vive una stagione di profonda riflessione identitaria, su ciò che ha rappresentato e ciò che intende essere, tra le pressioni delle piazze su Netanyahu per la liberazione degli ostaggi e le posizioni intransigenti dell’ultradestra. Nel frattempo, in Marocco la Generazione-Z è in fermento e anima la protesta contro il governo, la Libia continua a essere segnata da fratture e rivalità, l’Egitto rimane in precarie condizioni politiche ed economiche e guarda con preoccupazione a un possibile esodo di gazawi, il Libano prova a risollevarsi e la Siria affronta una lenta, e difficile, transizione dopo lo sgretolamento del regime assadista.
Partendo dall’edizione 2025 dell’Atlante Geopolitico del Mediterraneo dell’Istituto di Studi Politici “S.Pio V”, proveremo a capire – con l’aiuto di autorevoli esperti – in che direzione stiamo andando. Appuntamento Giovedì 9, dalle ore 18, presso la sede INTERSOS di Roma, in Via Aniene 26/A.
🔍The shores of the Mediterranean are being swept by turmoil and changes that could, in a short time, determine the future of the Mare Nostrum—and consequently, our own future.
Two years after the tragic attacks of October 7th, Gaza remains in the spotlight, with the controversial Trump plan which—despite its limitations and certain contentious aspects—appears to be opening a faint glimmer of hope towards negotiation and a ceasefire for the first time. Meanwhile, in the West Bank, the policy of settlement expansion continues seemingly unabated. Israel is undergoing a period of deep introspection regarding its identity—what it has represented and what it intends to be—caught between the pressure from the streets on Netanyahu for the release of the hostages and the uncompromising positions of the far-right. Elsewhere, in Morocco, Generation Z is in ferment, driving protests against the government; Libya remains marked by divisions and rivalries; Egypt is still in precarious political and economic conditions and is anxiously watching for a potential exodus of Gazans; Lebanon is attempting to recover; and Syria faces a slow, difficult transition following the collapse of the Assad regime.
Starting with the 2025 edition of the “Atlante Geopolitico del Mediterraneo” by the Institute for Political Studies "S.Pio V", we will attempt to understand—with the help of authoritative experts—the direction in which we are heading. The event will take place on Thursday 9th, from 6 pm, at the INTERSOS headquarters in Rome, Via Aniene 26/A.
