🎧 Within the project, S.D. Cinematografica contributes to immersive storytelling through high-quality multimedia production, including musical performances, interviews, voice recordings, and 360° video experiences.

🎶 From April 8 to 10, 2026, PlaceMUS XR joined the COST EarlyMuse meeting at the E-RIHS headquarters in Florence, bringing together musicologists, digital humanities experts, museum curators, and specialists in heritage technologies.

🎻 Within this vibrant exchange, PlaceMUS XR — represented by Eva Pietroni and Philippe Vendrix — contributed to the discussion, sharing its experience in XR and the design of digital applications for museums, in dialogue with the work of the Digital Heritage Innovation Lab of CNR ISPC.

🎼 Like voices in a shared composition, participants explored new ways of connecting historical musicology with major European research infrastructures and initiatives, including E-RIHS, DARIAH, EOSC, Data Spaces, and the Cultural Heritage Cloud (ECCCH).

📄 One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the co-creation of a collaborative document, outlining perspectives and synergies between musicology and digital infrastructures at the European level.

🏛️ The programme also included a visit to the archives of the Maggio Fiorentino, offering a valuable opportunity to engage with a leading case study where musical heritage and practice meet.

✨ A moment of resonance and exchange, where ideas, practices, and visions came together to shape future directions for musical heritage research.

🎼 PlaceMUS XR at the conference “Beyond digitisation: humanities research and technological innovation for communicating Cultural Heritage”

📍 On April 9–10, at the University of Calabria and the National Gallery of Cosenza, PlaceMUS XR was presented within a broader discussion exploring the dialogue between humanities research and technological innovation.

💡 During the session dedicated to platforms and ecosystems for cultural heritage digitisation, PlaceMUS XR contributed to the reflection on how immersive technologies can expand the ways heritage is accessed, interpreted, and experienced.

🎶 PlaceMUS XR develops a journey across European musical places, transforming them into immersive experiences where sound, historical context, and storytelling are interwoven. Through 10 case studies, the project explores a diversity of genres and historical periods, shaping new connections between audiences, spaces, and musical memory.

🌐 As part of the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage ecosystem, PlaceMUS XR contributes to the development of shared tools and approaches for a more accessible, dynamic, and participatory cultural heritage.

🔎 An opportunity to highlight how the integration of humanities and technology is not only a methodological evolution, but a way to rethink how cultural heritage is communicated and experienced.

🎼 From 16 to 20 March 2026, PlaceMUS XR took part in the second annual meeting of the ECHOES initiative in Poznań, Poland.

🏛️ Hosted between the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PCSS) and the National Museum, the event brought together projects working toward the development of the Cultural Heritage Cloud ( ).

🎧 It was an opportunity to meet sister projects, share perspectives, and engage in discussions on common challenges and future collaborations.

🗺️ During the sessions, PlaceMUS XR presented its vision of musical places as extended realities — where sound, space, history, and cultural context resonate together.

☁️ The project contributes through open digital tools, FAIR-aligned approaches, and accessible technologies designed to support immersive and shared experiences of Europe’s musical heritage.
