Re: NDC candidate accuses Delta State Govt, APC of sponsoring attack on supporters in Effurun

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, House of Representatives candidate for Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency, Dr. Obiuwevbi Ominimini, has accused Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, of sponsoring thugs who allegedly attacked members of the party during a campaign rally in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area.

The incident reportedly occurred during a campaign procession tagged the ‘1,000,000-Man March for NDC Candidates, 5-over-5’.

Speaking after the attack, Ominimini alleged that armed thugs disrupted the peaceful march and assaulted party supporters.

According to him, the attack was a deliberate attempt to intimidate NDC members and discourage support for the party ahead of the elections.

“We hold Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the APC responsible for mobilising thugs to attack our members during the peaceful 1,000,000-Man March in Effurun,” Ominimini said.

He described the incident as an assault on democracy and called on security agencies to investigate the matter and bring those responsible to justice.

The NDC candidate maintained that despite the attack, party members remained committed to their campaign activities and would not be intimidated.

Ominimini urged supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding, stressing that the party would continue to mobilise voters across Delta State.

As of the time of filing this report, the Delta State Government and the APC had not officially responded to the allegations.

It has become obvious to even a blind 🧍‍♀️ man 👨 and some rational sons and daughters of ANIOMA NATION that some of our representatives of years of yester -years are the harbingers of erosion of ideal democratic values and the under utilization of our human and natural resources in ANIOMA NATION some of them lacks the moral authority and public acceptance to contest for an election let alone represent the people.

Soludo pardons jailed native doctor, Akwa Okuko, appoints him Ambassador of Youths Reformation

Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has pardoned popular native doctor, Chidozie Nwanyi, popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki.

Nwanyi, who was among eight native doctors arrested last year for their involvement in the promotion of money rituals, quick wealth and the use of human parts for rituals, had earlier this year entered a plea bargain with the state government.

He was later offered a light sentence of 11 months and incarcerated at the Nigeria Correctional Facility, Amawbia, Anambra State, and also given the condition of renouncing his fe**sh practice and promising to become an ambassador of youth reformation.

Nwangwu had accepted the conditions and had since been serving his prison term until today, when Soludo pardoned him under the prerogative of mercy, making him Ambassador for Youth Reformation in Anambra.

Special Adviser to the governor on Youth Reformation, Dr Nelson Omenugha, who disclosed this, said the governor had paid a visit to the prison in fulfilment of his duties when he stated this.

Omenugha said: “Thank you, Mr Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, for graciously extending your hand of mercy to Chidozie Nwangwu (Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki) and giving him a new responsibility as Ambassador for Youth Reformation.

“This is the heart of Youth Reformation: not just punishment, but correction, restoration, a new purpose and A New Onye Anambra.

NB: His Excellency Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo extended the constitutional power of prerogative of mercy to AKWA OKUKO TIWARA AKI NA OBA while HE OKUKO will henceforth carries the banner of youth reformation as an ambassador and advocate of change in the state and the country at large.
