Birrificio Foràn: 𝐀 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐝𝐢 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐚

In the heart of the low Friuli region, in Castions di Strada, a new perspective opens up for beer enthusiasts: Foràn Brewery. A project born from the passion and dedication of Flavio and Ivano Mondini, owners of the homonymous agricultural company passed down through generations.

The story of Foràn Brewery is a fascinating transformation: from barley cultivated directly by the family, the transition is made to craft beer production, thus combining agricultural tradition with the culture of "drinking local." This is the Mondini's response to the motto of the American craft beer movement: "Drink Local."

After completing training through the Asprom network and beer entrepreneurship courses at the University of Udine, Flavio and Ivano decide to start their own production with the assistance of the CoBi consortium. Since March 2019, the 5 hl plant has been operational, offering the public eight unique beers.

The tasting room, characterized by an open layout, is a true artisanal gem. The furnishings, curated by local craftsmen, convey a welcoming atmosphere. In addition to Foràn beers, the venue offers the opportunity to savor some products from the agricultural company, such as pickled vegetables and cured meats, accompanied by bread prepared by local artisan bakeries using the company's cereal flour.

The Mondinis' production philosophy is clear: they aim not for the perfect product but rather for one that is genuine, healthy, and an expression of their work. This dedication is reflected in the continuous evolution of the company. Foràn has embraced organic farming for its cereals in recent years, becoming the only company in Friuli, and one of the few in Italy, to have dual organic and gluten-free certification.

Foràn Brewery is more than just a place to enjoy high-quality craft beers; it is an authentic expression of the land, tradition, and the ongoing pursuit of excellence by a family that has turned a passion for beer into a true art.

Giasbana, known as Jazbine in Slovenian, is the pulsating heart of Collio, and for many generations, it is here that the Korsic family has deep roots. In this unique cru, the grapes take shape and develop, and with care and dedication, they give life to the renowned Korsic wines.

A visit to the Korsic estate is not just a tasting but a journey through every phase of the meticulous production process. The experience begins among the vineyards and ends in the cellars, offering an unparalleled opportunity to immerse oneself in the company's philosophy. For those who wish to fully live this experience, Korsic Wines offers the possibility to stay just a few steps from the estate at one of the affiliated agritourisms, completing the total immersion in local wine culture.

The soil rich in ponca, a composition of layered marl and sandstone of Eocene origin, crumbles between the hands, revealing tiny fossils that nourish and enrich the vines. This peculiarity is reflected in Korsic wines, giving them a distinctive trait of minerality and salinity that makes them unique. The warm currents from the Adriatic keep the grapes dry, while the Julian Alps to the north protect them from cold currents and rain.

The climatic and geological characteristics of the territory have inspired the Collio consortium to highlight them in an innovative bottle. The unique shape not only allows for less glass and cork consumption but also features an engraving of "Collio" on the label and the consortium logo on the capsule, emphasizing the uniqueness of this wine region.

Korsic's wine portfolio includes renowned varieties such as Collio, Friulano, Malvasia, Ribolla Gialla, and Merlot. Each sip tells the story of the territory and the tireless passion of the Korsic family, a perfect blend of tradition, nature, and innovation in the heart of Collio.

In the picturesque setting of Ruttars di Dolegna, in the heart of Collio Goriziano, stands the "Casa delle Rose" agricultural estate, a jewel owned by the Bernot family.

With a vast expanse of land, of which three hectares are dedicated to a vineyard producing white and red grapes with the Guyot training system, Rose House stands as an icon of the wine tradition of the region. The villa, overlooking the vineyards, boasts a history that spans centuries, with its oldest part dating back to the 9th century and a central body expanded in the 14th century.

Positioned on the highest hill in the area, the villa offers a spectacular view that stretches from the majestic Carnic Alps to the Adriatic Sea, providing moments of pure contemplation on the clearest days.

In respect of tradition and history, the Rose House cellar reflects architecture studied centuries ago, ensuring a constant temperature that promotes the perfect maturation of wines. Here, the past and present blend in a harmonious symphony of aromas and flavors that characterize the labels of Rose House. In every glass of wine and in every dish served, Rose House conveys love for the land and passion for tradition, creating a unique experience that envelops visitors in a warm embrace of history and taste in the heart of Collio Goriziano.

Pinot bianco, malvasia, sauvignon, ribolla gialla, merlot, and cabernet sauvignon are the wines that can be tasted not only in the cellar but also in the new guesthouse provided by the Bernot family, where one can enjoy the full 360-degree experience of Collio.
