Hey ya’ll, Emma here! I’m so grateful and excited to announce that I’ve been nominated to be on ’s Board of Directors for 2023! OMPA is a critical, Oregon-based, non-profit organization that supports and shapes a thriving, diverse, and ever-expanding industry for creators across all paths of media production. I have adored working with the OMPA team in the past (Hosting the Horror Through An Inclusive Lens panel, heading content creation for the past Annual Showcase & Awards), and would be honored to continue collaborating with not only the Board, but the community that OMPA represents! ⭐️
When it comes to filmmaking, I feel strongly that equity, ethical set practices, and accessibility behind the scenes is just as important as making the film. Creating a collaborative, accessible space not only in standalone projects, but in the industry space at large is a value I hold close to my heart. The spotlights on underrepresented voices within the genre space, and discussions that have been held through my panels with Monstrous Femme (Women in Horror, Costuming Horror, The Final Girlboss: White Feminism in Genre Film with Too Much Productions) and other projects, have brought so much value and inspiration to my life as a creative, and have informed the way I approach my work. I want to serve our community in a way that brings that same energy to our industry here in Oregon- showcasing the unique voices, perspectives, and talent across all skill levels in media production- curating content, spotlights, events, and more that connect us in an authentic way, and sparks conversation, creativity, and curiosity.
There are FIVE more days to vote (deadline is 12/23/22)! Check out the link in our bio if you’d like to vote, learn more, or read candidate statements! 💖💐
