Bitpop Music Videos is a MUSICAL VIDEO ART PROJECT, it's an evolving research experience, involving musical groups from the independent scene in processes of co-creation and participatory design. Bitpop Music Videos reflects on some relevant themes of contemporary times, such as the remediation of experiences through screens, intermedial translations, and their effects on interpersonal communicati
on and social relationships. In an era characterized by the constant technological mediation of our lives, the project explores the authenticity of experience through the language of musical video art. The language of music videos acts as an osmotic membrane through which art and popular culture have cross-contaminated and reached a broad audience. This is the dimension in which Bitpop Music Videos crafts projects that blend thematic research with aesthetic accessibility. CO-CREATION is a central element of the project, with the musicians themselves called upon to produce part of the audiovisual content. This inclusive methodology incorporates the perspective and viewpoint of music authors, creating a visual work where music and image merge in a creative dialogue. Co-creation also becomes a subject of reflection on the role of mediation technologies and how they shape forms of artistic and musical cooperation and collaboration. From a formal perspective, the project's videos utilize POLYVISION techniques, fragmenting the screen into geometric sections with intercommunicating audiovisual content. In polyvision, symmetry is used to propose new interpretations through the multiplication and juxtaposition of real-world elements in the search for meaning in a hyper-mediated reality. Moreover, the project delves into the theme of the creative reuse of footage from AUDIOVISUAL ARCHIVES, exploring the concept of media memory and its influence on contemporary culture. The research and development project traverses the languages of music videos, trailers, medium-length films, and making-ofs, following a path that recalls aesthetics and formats codified in mass culture and digital cultures. It adopts these structures to shape an imaginary that reflects on the mediation of contemporary experiences.
