I met a woman I wanted to marry. From our early conversations, she told me her father was a “minister.” Many times when I called to speak to him, she’d say, “He’s in the chamber” or “He’s in a meeting.
Fast forward to our introduction ceremony in her village I didn’t notice any sign of political or government connection. I thought maybe they wanted to keep things low key. But when I asked her about it, she said she never told me her father was a government minister, that he is a minister of God (a pastor).

She explained that when she said “meeting” she meant church activities, and “chamber” meant prayer time. She said my wrong assumption is not her responsibility.

Now I feel very di.sa.ppoin.ted because I had already told my family I was marrying the daughter of an influential political figure they were even expecting to see top politicians or governors. I’m now thinking of calling off the wedding.

Guys, what do you think? Should I still go ahead or end things? I really need your advice.

Discipline is important, but trust is priceless.

Sometimes the people you call your customers are the ones giving you the highest prices.

I went to my regular tomato seller and asked for the price. She looked at me and said,
“Ah ah, customer, you already know the price why are you still pricing?”

I just smiled and paid. No wahala. I felt like I was being loyal.

But right after me, someone else came, priced it way lower and she agreed instantly. No stress.

That moment taught me something: being a regular doesn’t always mean you’re getting the best deal.

Since then, I stopped buying with emotion. I price like everyone else and guess what? I get better deals.

No permanent seller, just permanent sense.
