International Congress on Sustainable Heritage Assets
Mar del Plata, 25–27 November 2026
The International Congress on Sustainable Heritage Assets (CIBiPaS) emerges as an evolution of COIBRECOPA (https://www.coibrecopa.lemit.gov.ar/), with the aim of consolidating a space for interdisciplinary collaboration dedicated to the study, conservation, and sustainable management of the built heritage. In the face of global challenges such as climate change and the growing need for energy efficiency, it is essential to promote integrated approaches that connect scientific rigor with architectural and construction practice.
COIBRECOPA has established a well‑recognized tradition in creating academic and professional exchange spaces focused on conservation, rehabilitation, and the study of materials and construction systems. Over its various editions, it has fostered dialogue among specialists, institutions, and productive sectors, becoming a reference point in the field.
In continuity with COIBRECOPA’s guidelines, CIBiPaS seeks to deepen the analysis of heritage assets from a contemporary perspective, integrating sustainability criteria, responsible interventions, and retrofit strategies that extend the useful life of buildings while respecting their historical and cultural value. At the same time, it promotes the study of materials, construction techniques, and the use of “green” products, encouraging solutions compatible with both the environment and heritage.
The International Congress aims to strengthen the connection among researchers, restorers, practitioners, and the productive sector, creating a space for knowledge exchange, transfer, and application. In this regard, it highlights the importance of integrating advances in material characterization, energy efficiency, and technological innovation into heritage intervention processes.
In this way, CIBiPaS not only expands the thematic scope of COIBRECOPA but also positions itself as an international platform for the development of sustainable strategies applied to heritage, promoting the construction of shared criteria, the exchange of experiences, and the creation of collaborative networks that contribute to territorial development and the preservation of cultural identity.
