Some love stories aren’t meant to last forever. They’re meant to belong to an era.

In 1988, a 22-year-old Cindy Crawford met Richard Gere at a gathering hosted by legendary photographer Herb Ritts. Cindy was becoming one of the most recognizable faces in fashion. Richard was already one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

They started dating, and soon became one of the most photographed couples of the early ’90s.

Then came December 1991.

No enormous celebrity wedding. No months of planning. They simply flew to Las Vegas with a handful of friends and got married at the Little Church of the West. Everything happened so quickly that Cindy wore a navy Armani suit instead of a wedding dress, and their wedding rings were reportedly made from aluminum foil.

For a moment, they looked like the definition of the perfect Hollywood couple.

But behind those iconic photographs were two people at very different stages of life. Cindy later reflected that when they met, she was still discovering who she was, while Richard already knew much more clearly who he was and what he wanted.

Their marriage ended in 1995.

Years later, Cindy would look back on the relationship not simply as a mistake, but as a meaningful chapter of her life.

Maybe that’s the beautiful thing about some relationships.

I love this picture.

Not because of the jealousy.
Not because of the other woman.
But because of the painful truth hidden inside it.

Sometimes we become so fascinated by what we don’t have that we forget to look at what is already holding our hand.

We notice someone else’s beauty.
Someone else’s life.
Someone else’s love.
Someone else’s happiness.

And for a moment, we convince ourselves that maybe the grass really is greener somewhere else.

But while you’re looking at what you think you’re missing, someone else might be looking at your life and wishing they had exactly what you’re taking for granted.

One of the most iconic lines in cinema history came from a film that Hollywood almost didn’t know what to do with.

When Scarface was released in 1983, it was brutally criticized. Too violent. Too vulgar. Too excessive. The original cut was even given an X rating multiple times before director Brian De Palma fought to get it released with an R rating.

Critics attacked it, controversy followed it, and yet audiences couldn’t look away.

Then something unexpected happened.

The movie that many considered outrageous slowly became a cultural phenomenon. Tony Montana became one of cinema’s most recognizable characters, his lines were repeated for decades, and Scarface found a second life through music, fashion and pop culture.

More than 40 years later, people are still quoting him.

Maybe the critics hated the excess.
