Monsters behind the masks

I'm proud to introduce the warband that will accompany me next weekend at the world tounament: "La Ballata di Goffredo" (Goffredo's Dance).

On the weekend of September 6th–7th, Casale Monferrato (Italy) will host the very first Mordheim World Tournament, thanks to the incredible efforts of .italia and Needless to say, I am deeply grateful to all of them for making such an event possible.

I decided to create a warband using some of my favourite miniatures, taking inspiration from my first Mordheim love — Marienburg. This warband sings the final song of its captain, Goffredo il Fortunato (the Lucky), who has descended into the depths of his own madness: first hiring musicians and dancers instead of warriors, and then, at the peak of his insanity, hunting down his own men.
This warband represents to me my very essence as a Wargamer, since mordheim has been one of the first games that really captured me (and still has a firm grasp on me, as you can see). I even tried some oil washes too, for the first time 😅

The latest patrician set, the Great Game Hunt, is finally ready and able to hunt down monsters and people alike. I usually don't love painting mounted characters (I find horses challenging, don't ask me why!), but this mounted Noble was a joy to paint! Her beautiful dress, the delicate mask, her general pose made the painting experience really enjoyable ♥️❤️❤️
Now, the next step for me is surely talking about this little gang in the next Monsters Behind the Masks podcast together with Rens van den Bergh ! And maybe write down an article on community on how to further expand these merry patricians!

What's happening here? Mordor orcs fight against woodland gnomes? THIS IS MADNESS! madness ..? THIS.... IS .... DRAGON RAMPANT!!! One of my best friends came over and, since he was an old Warhammer fantasy player, we couldn't pass on a quick fantasy game. Dragon rampant was the rule set of choice, simple and quick to learn, very funny to play. We played a 15 points game and in less than 1 hour my friend (and his bloody orcs) emerged victorious. Not even Franz the Black Gnome could withstand the brutality of a ringwraith and his black guard bodyguards. Ouch. Mordor in the end was in control of the 2 dimensional gates and secured victory for the Dark Lord!
