VETRINA #13
Lightbox in collaboration with presents presents .hahn Night Eyes
February 20, 2025 – June 22, 2025
Opening February 19 at 6:30pm
The contemporary art project Vetrina continues its second cycle of presentations, focusing on the theme of activism. It exclusively involves women artists who are enterprising and provocative in different ways and who have consistently used their works to provide space for proactive reflection on the contemporary world.
For Vetrina #13, Vino Vero has invited Mariana Hahn, a multidisciplinary artist who explores the relationship between the body, memory, and transmission of knowledge. Through materials such as silk, hair, salt, and copper, Hahn examines how memory is stored and altered across time and different civilizations.
“Night Eyes” is a site-specific exhibition featuring five works that delve into the transformation of materials and their resonance with human experience. The first piece, “Untitled” (2020), presents a copper plate shaped in the outline of a reclining human figure, created through the imprint of sweat left during the artist’s runs in Paris. Over time, the oxidation of the copper gradually reveals this trace, a poetic testament to presence, memory, and change. The pose mirrors that of marginalized individuals in urban spaces, evoking themes of vulnerability and resilience.
Alongside this piece, the exhibition includes four additional works integrating salt and copper, with crystallized salt forming textured surfaces that resemble moons slowly eroding over time. Inspired by the salt pans of Gozo, Malta, these works explore erosion, evaporation, and the fragile memory embedded in materials.
Join us on February 19 at Vino Vero to discover “Night Eyes” and Mariana Hahn’s evocative exploration of memory, transformation, and time.
