Did your pasta volcano erupt?
Don’t worry, you’re definitely not the only one.

The traditional flour volcano is beautiful, but when you’re not used to it, those eggs can escape faster than you think… and sometimes they end up everywhere except inside your pasta dough.

That’s why my nonna used to tell me to use a bowl.

It keeps everything under control, gives you time to think about the sauce, the errands you still need to run… and most importantly, you still end up with homemade pasta on the table.

Tradition should bring joy, not turn pasta day into a nightmare.

Why don’t Italians break spaghetti? Here is the reason why.
Spaghetti weren’t made to be broken.

Their length is part of their design. It’s what allows every strand to wrap around your fork, embrace the sauce, and create the perfect bite.

And there’s another fascinating reason…

In the past, producing long, perfectly intact spaghetti was a true sign of craftsmanship. If they survived extrusion, drying, and handling without breaking, it meant they had been made properly.

So when you break spaghetti, you’re not just making them shorter… You’re missing part of the experience they were designed to give you.

Know someone who still breaks spaghetti?
Share this video with them… they might never do it again!

Why does pasta dough need to rest?

Because while the dough looks like it’s doing absolutely nothing… a lot is actually happening inside 😅
