From the very beginning, we have specialized in high-quality projects. In 1996 we acquired a bindery, now called Legatoria Camisana, and in 1998 we bought the printer ArteGrafica, a company already known for its high-quality illustrated books and catalogues. Our commitment to grow in a direction that is compatible with the environment led us to obtain both ISO 14001 certification (February 2008) and FSC certification (May 2007).

What is the most unsettling book on your shelf? 🎃📚

Halloween is approaching, and we chose to show you a title that knows how to unsettle.

“We Have Always Lived in the Castle” by Shirley Jackson returns in a rare and precious limited edition.
This edition features illustrations by Angie Hoffmeister and an afterword by Pulitzer Prize–winning author Donna Tartt. Both have signed the volume, making it even more unique.

The printed cloth binding and magnetic-closure clamshell protect a story filled with mystery, isolation, and whispers between the pages. ✨️

Questa edizione The Folio Society raccoglie illustrazioni di Angie Hoffmeister e un afterword firmato da Donna Tartt, scrittrice premio Pulitzer. Entrambe hanno autografato il volume, rendendolo ancora più unico.

La rilegatura in tela stampata e il cofanetto a chiusura magnetica custodiscono una storia fatta di mistero, isolamento e sussurri tra le pagine. ✨️

THE WOODS, published by We Mind Publishing, portrays the forest, through light, mist, and silence, through the eyes of Kilian Schoenberger Photography Schönberger.�A volume that leads the reader into a living, cyclical ecosystem, where each page invites you to slow down and let the images speak.
Designed with close attention to materiality, the book features a cover wrapped in wood-effect paper: a tactile choice that conveys the grain and warmth of the forest, turning the act of opening the book into an almost immersive sensory gesture. On the front cover, a circular cut-out offers a window onto the printed endpapers, foreshadowing the mood of the visual narrative.

Progettato con attenzione alla materia, il libro adotta una copertina rivestita con carta a effetto legno: una scelta tattile che restituisce venature e calore del bosco, trasformando l’apertura del volume in un gesto sensoriale quasi immersivo. Sul piatto anteriore, la trancia circolare lascia intravedere come una finestra i risguardi stampati, anticipando l’atmosfera del racconto visivo.

🇬🇧📖 Every book has its own story, but some are born as intimate, precious objects.
Such is the case with Robert Frank – Mary’s Book, published by MFA Publications: a facsimile of the notebook the photographer created in 1949 for Mary Lockspeiser, weaving together images and words like a visual love letter.

The new edition recreates that same atmosphere with a complex editorial project: two different papers – one of them pigmented – alternate to enhance text and images, while a sewn booklet, kept inside the volume, becomes an essential part of the work. It is held in place by a vertical bellyband applied to the back cover.

The booklet itself is an object within the object: the photographs are printed with targeted spot UV, recreating the glossy effect of real photographic prints. A detail that turns reproduction into a tactile experience, preserving the poetic strength of the original.

🇮🇹📖 Ogni libro ha la sua storia, ma alcuni nascono già come oggetti intimi e preziosi.
Così è per Robert Frank – Mary’s Book, pubblicato da MFA Publications: facsimile del taccuino che il fotografo realizzò nel 1949 per Mary Lockspeiser, intrecciando immagini e parole come in una lettera visiva.

La nuova edizione restituisce quella stessa atmosfera con un progetto editoriale complesso: due carte diverse – una pigmentata – si alternano per valorizzare testi e immagini, mentre un booklet cucito, custodito all’interno del volume, diventa parte integrante dell’opera. A tenerlo fermo è una fascetta verticale applicata in terza di copertina.

Il booklet è un oggetto nell’oggetto: le fotografie sono stampate con spot UV mirato, così da restituire la brillantezza di una vera stampa fotografica. Un dettaglio che rende la riproduzione un’esperienza materica, capace di mantenere intatta la forza poetica dell’originale.

🇬🇧 Biennale Danza 2025 – Myth Makers

The official catalogue of the 19th edition, directed by Wayne McGregor, embraces the theme “Myth Makers”—an invitation to create new myths in order to understand the present and imagine the future.

📖 To convey the festival’s visual and symbolic strength, the volume has been produced as a hardcover with flush cut edges, featuring gilded edges on all three sides. Gold returns in the endpapers and in the foil stamping on the cover and spine, creating a continuous thread of light. Selected sections are printed on embossed paper, enhanced with a textured, raised screen-printing varnish that adds a material and tactile contrast. Completing the design is a shiny gold ribbon bookmark, echoing the endpapers.

A project where content and form intertwine, turning the catalogue into an object that reflects the spirit of the Biennale.




🇮🇹 Biennale Danza 2025 – Myth Makers
Il catalogo ufficiale della 19ª edizione diretta da Wayne McGregor accompagna il tema “Myth Makers”, un invito a creare nuovi miti per comprendere il presente e immaginare il futuro.

📖 Per restituire la forza visiva e simbolica del festival, il volume è stato realizzato come cartonato a taglio al vivo, con una labbratura dorata sui tre lati. L’oro ritorna nei risguardi interni e nella trancia sul piatto e sul dorso, creando un filo continuo di luce. Alcune sezioni sono stampate su carta goffrata, nobilitata da una serigrafia spessorata e ruvida, che introduce un contrasto materico e tattile. A chiudere, un segnalibro oro lucido che riprende i risguardi.

Un progetto in cui contenuto e forma dialogano, trasformando il catalogo in un oggetto che riflette lo spirito della Biennale.

This book doesn’t just document an artistic project — it amplifies its visual and conceptual impact through every material detail.

“Jeffrey Gibson: the space in which to place me”, published by DelMonico Books, accompanies the artist’s participation in the U.S. Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale. 🇺🇸🏛️

Jeffrey Gibson is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary American art. His work merges Indigenous heritage, q***r identity, and pop culture into a layered and powerful visual language.

📕 The graphic design, by Dylan Fracareta, reflects this complexity through a rich and carefully constructed editorial object:

Clothbound cover with a rounded spine, applied panel with metallic finish, and debossed spine.

🖨️ Inside, the choice of materials enhances the visual narrative:

• A mix of uncoated, coated, and fluorescent papers
• UV-coated pages to heighten color brilliance
• Fluorescent Pantones on uncoated papers
• Metallic Pantones on fluorescent papers
• Die-cut inserts with window openings
• Four fold-out posters reproducing artworks by the artist integrated into the book’s flow as standalone, collectible elements.

A volume that celebrates the work of American artist LaToya M. Hobbs, known for her monumental prints and powerful portraits centered on identity, femininity, and everyday life.

Printed by Graphicom with particular attention to ex*****on quality and detail rendering, the book features Bodonian binding and screen-printed cover boards, adding a distinctive visual and tactile effect.

The project was printed on two different types of paper, one of which is translucent, used to create overlays between text and images, enhancing the book’s visual depth.

Published by Yale University Press in collaboration with the Harvard Art Museums, Carving Out is a striking example of editorial design in which content and form reinforce one another.

Un volume che celebra l’opera dell’artista statunitense LaToya M. Hobbs, riconosciuta per le sue incisioni monumentali e i ritratti intensi, focalizzati su identità, femminilità e quotidianità.

Stampato da Graphicom con particolare attenzione alla qualità esecutiva e alla resa dei dettagli, il libro è rilegato in bodoniana e presenta quadranti di copertina serigrafati, che donano un effetto visivo e materico distintivo.

La stampa è stata realizzata su due tipologie di carta, una delle quali traslucida, utilizzata per creare sovrapposizioni tra testi e immagini e amplificare la profondità visiva del progetto.

Created on the occasion of the exhibition at the Peter Marino Art Foundation, this volume brings together a selection of 90 photographic works by Wolfgang Tillmans, drawn from Peter Marino’s private collection.

📖 For this editorial project, a binding was chosen — a concertina-folded structure made from a single continuous printed strip, assembled during the binding phase and entirely without a spine.�This solution gives the book full lay-flat opening, greater flexibility in consultation, and a strong graphic and structural identity.

🇬🇧 The new volume dedicated to Do Ho Suh, published by Tate in 2025, is an editorial project that, like the artist’s work, reflects on themes of home, identity, and memory.

📕 Its graphic design is both refined and contemporary: a softcover with a front flap, exposed spine with red thread stitching, and an elegant debossed cover that adds tactile depth to the book.
A structure that highlights the quality of the materials and the publisher’s careful attention to design.

🇮🇹 Il nuovo volume dedicato a Do Ho Suh, pubblicato da Tate nel 2025, è un progetto editoriale che riflette, come l’opera dell’artista, sui temi di casa, identità e memoria.

📕 La realizzazione grafica è essenziale e contemporanea: brossura con aletta sul fronte, dorso esposto con cucitura a filo rosso, e un elegante debossing sulla copertina, che aggiunge profondità materica al volume.

🇬🇧 Japanese binding: where technique becomes aesthetic

Binding is not just a functional solution — it's an integral part of the design.

🪡 We produced a volume using Japanese stab binding with exposed stitching, entirely glue-free. Each folded section is closed on the fore-edge and hand-sewn through the spine. The dorsum remains fully visible, revealing the book’s inner structure and highlighting the craftsmanship of the thread binding.

To complete the project, a custom edge print creates a visible word along the trimmed block when the book is closed.

🇮🇹 Rilegatura giapponese: dove la tecnica diventa estetica

La rilegatura non è solo una soluzione funzionale, ma parte integrante di un design.

🪡 Abbiamo realizzato un volume con rilegatura giapponese a filo esterno, priva di colla, in cui ogni quartino è chiuso nel controdorso e cucito a mano. Il dorso resta completamente esposto, rivelando la struttura del libro e valorizzando la cucitura artigianale.

A completare il progetto, un taglio colore personalizzato che, una volta chiuso il libro, compone una scritta lungo il blocco.

📕 Un esempio di come la legatoria possa dialogare con la creatività editoriale, trasformando ogni dettaglio tecnico in un elemento narrativo.
