After eighteen years from its birth, the Sigismund Thalberg International Piano Competition reaches its 12th edition. In these years the Prize has been assigned to young pianists of absolute value. Most of all we want to mention Michails Liftis, Third Prize in our 2004 edition and First Prize at the Busoni in 2009, Sofia Gulyak, Thalberg Prize in 2006 and First Prize at the Leeds International Pia

no Competition always in 2009, Dmitri Levkovich and Giovanni Bertolazzi. We are sure that also this edition could confirm this magnificent trend and we take the opportunity to thank the family Ferrara Pignatelli of Strongoli that with its contribution has made and makes possible the realization of this extraordinary event.

Here is some shots of our Award Ceremony!! Kita Himawari won the Third Prize ex aequo and the Vincenzo and Francesca Princes of Strongoli Special Prize for the best Thalberg’s piece performance, congratulation!!! Donna Melissa Ferrara Pignatelli di Strongoli and Francesco Nicolosi presented the awards kindly offered by the family Ferrara Pignatelli di Strongoli, direct descendants of the great pianist and composer Sigismund Thalberg.

Here is some shots of our Award Ceremony!! Greta Lobefaro won the Third Prize ex aequo and the Vincenzo Vitale Special Prize for the youngest finalist, congratulation!!! Marina Vitale and Francesco Nicolosi presented the awards kindly offered by the family Ferrara Pignatelli di Strongoli (third prize) and Vincenzo Vitale's nieces (special prize).
