Continuing with the celebration of Senior Citizens Month, the team at Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Jamaica produced this wonderful video.

The Senior’s Voice: Guidance for the Next Generation

"My mother used to tell me, ‘Show me your company and I’ll tell you who you are.’" – Mary Clarke

Growing up, Mary held this lesson close, as her mother instilled it in her. Because of this, she has always been careful and discerning about the company she keeps. Her advice to this generation: be intentional with the people around you, because who you surround yourself with is a reflection of who you are — whether good or bad.

The safety of our children must come first. Too often, we see motorists ignoring school bus signals, putting young lives at risk.

We are urging all motorists:

☑️ STOP when a school bus has its stop sign deployed or flashing lights on, no matter the direction you are coming from.

☑️ Proceed with caution only after the stop sign is retracted and the lights are off.

Let us all play our part to ensure every child gets to and from school safely.
