This is the stunning Adut Akech, of South Sudan. Raised in Kakuma, Kenya, Akech was only 7 years old when she moved away from Kenya along with her mother to Adelaide, Australia as South Sudanese refugees. Facing many difficulties in her transition to Australia, she was no stranger to bullying and a huge culture shock. Akech was introduced to modeling at age 13 by her family and ever since has risen to superstardom. In 2018, she was chosen as "Model of the Year" by models.com, an honour which was repeated the next year. She has made waves modeling and doing campaigns for Saint Laurenm Fendi and Moschino.

Happy Independence Nigeria!
October 1st 2018 marked 58 years of Independence of Nigeria from British control. High Commissioner of Nigeria to Jamaica, Her Excellency Janet Olisa has held this celebration at The High Commission in celebration of the beauty, the art, the tribes, food, languages and traditions-the culture unique to this West African nation, Nigeria. Many people of African descent around the world have Nigerian ancestry. This is a small clip portraying Nigerian fashion wear amongst a few tribes at the High Commission yesterday. Sincere apologies we were unable to get all the clips uploaded during the day October 1st.
