Jimmy Cliff, one of Jamaica’s most iconic musicians 🎼🎹🎸awarded the Order of Merit (OM) in Jamaica.
Jamaica’s third-highest national honor, given for exceptional international achievement in the arts and sciences. Jimmy, who passed November 24th, 2025 from a seizure followed by pneumonia, according to his wife.

His Hits include:
“Many Rivers to Cross”
“You Can Get It If You Really Want”
“The Harder They Come”
“Sitting in Limbo”

He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2010🎸

Jimmy Cliff helped globalize reggae during the 1960s and early 70s, he was one of the first Jamaican musicians signed to major international labels and toured extensively across Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

Launched in 1990, the Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX) is the island’s signature business-to-business tourism trade show, bringing together international buyers (tour operators, wholesalers, travel agents) with local providers in Jamaica’s tourism value chain — from hotels, attractions, and transport to cultural, culinary, and experiential offerings. JAPEX is organized annually by the JHTA in collaboration with the JTB.

(JAPEX) 2025 will take place from September 21 to 24, 2025, at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, St. James, with an opening ceremony at Harmony Beach Park and with closing ceremony hosted by Sandals International!
