She had only four biological children, but the late Gwendell Smith, affectionately called Miss Gwen, was a mother-figure to many in the communities where she resided - St John district in Clarendon and Portland Road in Kingston.

She passed away peacefully on Saturday, 28 February 2026. And she has been laid to rest beside her sister at Sunset Burial Park in St Andrew.

The man who died after choking during a bun-eating competition held in the Easter season has been laid to rest in the cemetery beside the sanctuary where he worshipped - Litchfield Baptist Church in Trelawny.

Keron Powell, affectionately called Handy, died on Saturday (22 March 2026) or 10 days before what would have been his 38th birthday.
