The daughter of teachers, Victoria Hanley, who was a final year student at the University of the West Indies, Mona, was destined for greatness.

But that hope was dashed when her body was found lying face-down in her room at the university's George Alleyne Hall.

Reports are that a scarf was seen tightly wrapped around her neck. A post mortem report shows that she died of strangulation, throwing initial speculations about su***de into deeper doubt.

The 20-year-old aspiring digital marketer was buried in rainfall and mystery at the Manchester-based Melrose Cemetery.

Her thanksgiving service took place in Mandeville, at Andrews Memorial United Church, where she holds the record of being the youngest person to have been confirmed in that sanctuary.

A joint funeral has been held for two adult siblings, whose mother Velma Thompson wore full black to their funeral near May Pen, Clarendon.

The deceased are 61-year-old cook Howard Williams and 46-year-old hairstylist Allicea Williams.

At the funeral for 38-year-old farming icon Fabian Taylor, his nine children all showed up attired in blue and white. Some of them, including the youngest who is months old, are apparently too young to fathom the scope of their loss.

The two eldest hailed their dad as a great one.

Another person who sang his praise is Member of Parliament for St Ann South Western Zavia Mayne. He, in a tribute, underscored the significant role the late farmer and party promoter played in the economy of his rural community and beyond.

In addition to buying and selling farm produce in different parishes, the late Fabian also supplied fast food giants such as Burger King and Island Grill.

The youngest victim of the mass shooting that happened recently at Linstead in St Catherine, Shannon Gordon, got an emotional funeral in the rural community of Hampstead, St Mary.

Her class teacher cried - and so too did her principal Malaika Sinclair-Bailey, who disclosed that the four-year-old was on the verge of being appointed a class monitor at Rosemount Primary and Infant School.

The child's mother, Shanay Murray, displayed courage amid grief as she walked abreast her mom to the burial site, where she stooped beside her daughter's casket, stared at her in disbelief, and touched her as though she were searching for a heartbeat...that never appeared.

Donalee Thomas' life was a tapestry woven from myriad experiences, both gold and dark threads. And she appreciated all aspects of it.

She was born at Spanish Town Hospital in St Catherine 01 May 1984. She died at University Hospital of the West Indies in St Andrew on Sunday, 12 October 2025, due to Gallbladder cancer.

Donnalee grew up at Point Hill and Linstead - two communities in St Catherine where she also ended up spending her adult years.

Her educational pursuits brought her through Point Hill Leased Primary School, Tacius Golding High and McGrath High.

She worked as a cashier and a teller.

When not busy trying to earn an honest bread, Donnalee enjoyed playing netball and spending quality time with her children Denelson Allen and Davika Williams.

She is survived by her children; mother Etta Harrison; brothers Glenroy Thomas, Aman Thomas and Danion Thomas; other relatives and friends.

A service of thanksgiving for Donnalee's life is scheduled for Mount Zion Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Rosehall, Linstead on Saturday, 20 December 2025, commencing 11AM.

Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus driver Dwayne Mullings has been laid to rest along with his father Lester.

Their burial took place months after the death of the bus driver's mom Sandra Mullings.
