I was scared… 😳

It was a dream trip. A destination that had been on my bucket list ever since I knew what one was. We were planning a multigenerational trip to Ireland. 🇮🇪

Trying to make sure everyone was supported on this first extended flight ✈️ we’d be on together, not to mention navigating a different country seemed overwhelming. Not only do you have all the normal concerns about kids’ first overnight on the airplane, but we had some extra concerns.

We wanted to make sure 84 year old great grandma 👵 was comfortable with lodgings, meals, transportation, and moving through the busy airports.

But most of all, Baby B… She has battled the effects of cerebral palsy, feeding difficulties, and more her whole life. Planning travel with her requires packing mobility supports, 💊 medications, calculating necessary nutritional supplements, and more.

It would have been easy to say:
It’s too hard.
There are too many complications.
I can’t do it.

But though I was scared, though I knew we would need to be flexible, we would have to move at a slower pace and it wasn’t going to be a perfectly curated visit, we did it.

I am so grateful for the experience, the memories, and the fact that our family got to do it together.

Just a reminder: It’s ok to be scared. It’s not ok to give up.

I really thought our first visit to Crazy Pinz in Fort Wayne would be a quick hour-or-two outing.

You know… entertain the kids, burn some energy, grab a snack and head home. 😂

Five hours later…

🎳 We bowled.
⛳ We played mini golf.
🧗 We climbed the rock wall.
🍕 We grabbed snacks.
🎮 We played arcade games.

And somehow the kids STILL weren’t ready to leave! 🤯

What started as a casual outing turned into a full-blown family fun marathon—and they were already asking when we could come back.

Mom verdict: HUGE win. 🙌

If you’re looking for a Fort Wayne activity where you can keep the whole crew entertained for more than five minutes, this one definitely deserves a spot on your list!

We love a multigenerational 👧👩👩‍🦳👵 adventure, especially when it begins at our favorite airport. ✈️ Short lines, low parking 🅿️ fees, and the closest to home make Fort Wayne International our airport of choice whenever we book a new trip. Last flight, our bags 💼 were even unloaded quickly!
