Dean A-Plus - Dean A+ Dean A-Plus, AKA Dean Anderson, is a part-time artiste. He has been independently doing music since 2015.

Dean A-Plus got interested in making music at the age of 16 when influenced by some of his family members who are musicians, and by some of his peers from high school who did their own music. The "A-Plus" from his stage name was inspired by one of his school mates thinking that the young artiste had some great future potential. As years went by, Dean had been quietly doing music on an occasional b

asis, but is now looking to get his songs verified and certified. So stay tuned for updates in the near future as the distribution process is undergoing.

Well, that's a wrap guys. As planned from August 24, 2025 (10th anniversary), I've completed the composition timeline on my birthday (Feb 9). It was fun going back down memory lane. Looking back just made me realise how diverse my music was. Whether based on genre (dancehall, trap, hip-hop, reggae) or by topic (love, war, political, outside of the box, etc.)

As I've mentioned under my first song's trivia, all of this started because I wanted to express how I felt over my first broken heart. A friend said that I was lucky I didn't turn to drugs. But it's also fair to say that the music is my drug. I might not be addicted to it, but it's an escape and a distraction from all the problems in reality. When I'm writing a song, or adding effects to vocals, or editing a beat, or remastering a track, or even creating cover arts, I'm just alone and in my zone. But I digress.

Thanks to those who continued supporting and being involved on this journey. I see y'all and appreciate y'all. I'll be back with more music on my 20th....maybe 15th....or sooner 😅 We'll see. In the meantime, feel free to comment your favourite song(s) from my discography compiled within this video. Kinda curious to know the favourites.

Song 25 of 25, "Get Fi Know Yuh". Composed and recorded August 2025. All master and song composition rights reserved. Instrumental rights owned and produced by .

Trivia: I have a friend called Yen, and occasionally, we'd talk about music. In the wake of graduating UCC, she asked if I was going to be doing songs more often just like I used to prior to UCC. I told her that I highly doubt it, because as an indie artiste, it takes a lot of time and energy to handle the creative, the business, and the marketing side of music all by myself. So, she suggested that I just do music as a hobby and share my talent rather than keeping it hidden. Ideally, my 10th music anniversary was coming up (3 weeks away, at the time), so I guess you could say that Yen influenced me to experiment and share my music more now 😅

But not only that, she was also the person who suggested I try something on Rvssian's Storybook Riddim because it was trending (probably still is). Aside from Kartel's song, I didn't know the other songs on the Riddim until I eventually checked. All of them were...heavily s*xualised 😂

So, I decided to just do something different, more radio friendly that still fed from the s*xual nature of the Riddim. My view was s*x is overrated, why not just talk/sing about how great it feels to "get fi know" more about someone you really like? And so, "Get Fi Know Yuh" was born.

As expected, Yen approved (wish Rvssian could a do the same tho), and then I posted the song on IG thereafter. Next thing I knew, some of the UCC students (who didn't know I did music a long while now) reached out and started wondering who the song was intended for (among other things). 😂 But I had a feeling that would've happened since I haven't released any music in a long time. Because from their point of view, me suddenly drop this gyal chune pon some new listeners with no explanation. Me nah confirm or deny anything still, but what I'll say is, I intentionally made the lyrics controversial. Cause as they would say, "controversy sells and trends" 🤷🏻‍♂️

Honourable Mention, "Geoff's Comet - Remix". Composed and recorded May 2025.

Trivia: After another hiatus (1 year this time), UCC was looking to make Sports Day even better on May 23, 2025. Being Student Council President at the time, I didn't retain the House Captain role, but was still very much involved where planning was concerned.

1 event we were planning to include was a song Clash at Sports Day. Even though "The Big Blue House - Remix" was fun and comedic, I felt the need to do another song that felt a little more "serious", as if we meant business. And what better way to do that than go back to my preferred genre, Dancehall?

At the time, the "() Kartel Effect" was still very much high. I was listening to his song "Comet", and then an idea came to me to just do a remix cover of it. Then the rest was history. Unfortunately, similar to what happened with Industrial Electronics at HEART, the performance segment wasn't held. So didn't get to perform it.

Honourable Mention, "Find Me Parking". Composed and recorded July 2024. All master and song composition rights reserved. I don't own instrumental rights.

Trivia: Just 1 semester away from wrapping up my final year at UCC, I had a Capstone class to complete. I was grouped with 2 other members (Kareem & Ramone), tasked to design a prototype of a smart parking system that could benefit Jamaica's typical congested parking lots.

I don't think it's my place to give a detailed scope of the project (without the others approval). But what I'll say is I didn't contribute as much as I wanted due the passing of Hurricane Beryl on that same Summer. Being based in South Central St. Elizabeth, we were hard it and took months to recover. Despite that, I did my best to contribute where I could. This video, in particular, was 1 of those contributions and it was for the mandatory presentations. I did a skit, edited the video segments, and went as far as to create a jingle for the Find Me Parking app, all while being on the temporary power of generators.

Song 23 of 25, "Lifestyle" (feat. B-3 aka BVD S33DZ). Composed December 2022, recorded January 2023. All master and song composition rights reserved.

Trivia: Speedy and I attended Munro College a decade ago. But I didn't find out that he did music until long after we graduated in 2017. He always respected me as an indie artiste, so me link him 1 day and seh we fi do a collab.

When he agreed, I found this riddim called "Coconut King" on Bandlab (inspired by the afro beats style of Burna Boy's "Anybody"). I modified it, and we both decided to compose a song about "Lifestyle" and living the dream. The riddim just gave that kind of vibe. We recorded, I engineered, and the rest is history. A very hit worthy and underrated song 🔥

Song 22 of 25, "Talk of the Town". Composed October 2022, recorded November 2022. All master and song composition rights reserved.

Trivia: This song has an interesting story. After just beginning my second semester at UCC, I met a young lady who calls herself "Jaiye" (although we technically first crossed paths in 2019, but that's another story). We were in a group having a conversation, which eventually led to us talking about an UCC club called "Talk of the Town ". She was a club executive, and she was looking for new recruits. The next club meeting was Valentine's day themed and some how I ended up finding myself being her date for it 😅 Jaiye and I friendship has grown tremendously since then.

Fast forward to Fall 2022 where I started my second year, noticed I had the skillset to be an asset for the club. So she encouraged me, and next thing you know, I became a club executive on September 2022. And not too long after, I did something unique that no other club has done, and that was create a theme song. The rest as they say is history. It's a banger of a theme song too 🔥Ppl fi license me for commercials 😂

Song 21 of 25, "This Ya Gyal A Mine" (feat. Sir KAZ). Composed February 2022, recorded March 2022. All master and song composition rights reserved. We don't own the rights to the instrumental.

Trivia: KAZ and I were thinking of doing a song topic that was both unique and relatable. We haven't really heard much dancehall songs surrounding 2 male friends fighting over a lady (probably due to the stereotype of bros before hoes).

That said, we decided to do just that. KAZ and I were fighting over a girl in this song, only to realize in the end that she had a twin 😂

The second clip is .kaz.musik performing the song at a venue in the US.

Song 20 of 25, "Every Day I Wonder" (feat. Sir KAZ). Composed November 2021, recorded December 2021. All master and song composition rights reserved.

Trivia: Ever since I was a youth, I always challenge the status quo or questioned certain things about reality (influenced by the Matrix). This song pretty much gives a snippet of the thoughts in my head.

This song is my 2nd hip-hop rap song. I also allowed .kaz.musik to join as a callaborator just to see how he'd flow on a 90s styled G-funk beat.

Song 19 of 25, "Dollaz Mek Sense". Composed July 2021, recorded August 2021. All master and song composition rights reserved.

Trivia: I've been through many financial hurdles over the years. The pandemic in 2021 made the cost of living worse as well. So I meant every lyric in this song. KAZ was almost a callaborator on this, but he was unable to find the time to be involved with it.
