Shadow Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Alfred Dawes, has committed to improving the healthcare sector by providing incentives for nurses and doctors to stay in Jamaica while accusing the Andrew Holness administration of poorly managing the sector.

Dawes criticised the government for cutting ribbons but demanded that they call the general election, indicating ‘time come’ for the People’s National Party (PNP) to govern Jamaica. “And we say to them, with the ribbon them weh them a cut, all you a do, all weh you a walk up and down and a bend up your face, call it if you bad. Call it,” he said.

Jamaica’s 2024 Olympic long jump silver medallist Wayne Pinnock confirmed his intention to switch allegiance to Turkey for financial gains, declaring that there is “life after track”.

The 24-year-old Pinnock, who won the long jump at the London Diamond League on Saturday with a leap of 8.20m, said he still loves Jamaica.

In 1962, when Owen Gray settled in the United Kingdom, his native Jamaica gained independence from that country.

He was an established singer in his homeland, and it was not long before he made his mark in the UK, which had a growing West Indian populace.

Gray died on July 20 in London, his daughter Antoninette told Our Today. He was 86 and was recently discharged from hospital where he had been treated for his ailing health.

Shares of crypto-linked companies jumped on Monday, as ether prices scaled their highest this year after President Donald Trump signed into law a bill regulating stablecoins in the U.S.

Trump signed the GENIUS Act late on Friday, marking a huge win for crypto industry that has been lobbying for a regulatory framework to gain greater legitimacy. The bill was passed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 308 to 122 on Thursday, after Senate approval.

In a text message to Sports Illustrated, Bradley confirmed there was a spot reserved for DeChambeau regardless of whether he remains in the top six in points to earn an automatic qualifying bid. DeChambeau was fifth in points when The Open Championship ended Sunday.
