Keep up to date with Jordan's updated residency laws.
🌍 Planning to extend your stay in Jordan? 🇯🇴 Here’s important news for residents and tourists alike!
Starting July 1, 2025, the Jordanian government has updated its residency laws. If you're staying beyond your visa or residency card's expiration date, fines for overstaying will double to 3.00 JOD per person/day.
🛂 To avoid these increased fines, make sure to renew your visa or residency on time! Visas can be renewed at the police station.
Remember, you can't submit your residency renewal package more than one month in advance. The process includes submitting two passport-sized photos, your residency card, and your passport. Once submitted, the package cannot be withdrawn, so plan ahead!
🕒 Please note that renewal processing may take up to four weeks, so factor this into your travel plans. Those with expired residencies or domestic helpers with expired sponsorships will be subject to daily overstay fees until renewal.
👉 Stay informed and comply with these regulations to ensure smooth travels and extended stays in this beautiful country!
