10限目は「ユダヤ教の始まり」について学んでいきましょう。
世界各地に住むユダヤ人の歴史と文化を支えるのは『ヘブライ聖書』です。これはキリスト教の「旧約聖書」にあたり、イスラム教の聖典『コーラン』にもつながる、まさに世界宗教の源流といえる物語です。
一つの民族に伝わる神話が、なぜ世界へ広がったのでしょうか？それは、ギリシャ神話が「星座」として世界中に定着したのと似ています。特定の民族を超えて、多くの人々に受け継がれる普遍的な物語となったのです。
最大の特徴は、唯一神「ヤーウェ」への信仰です。日本の八百万（やおよろず）の神々のような多神教が一般的だった時代、たった一人の神を信じるという考え方は非常に画期的でした。この唯一神の正体については、次回詳しく深掘りします。

Our new series: “Dr. Burkanilo’s Religion & Philosophy Class”
Lesson 10: Let’s learn about “The Origins of Judaism.”
The history and culture of Jewish people around the world are supported by the Hebrew Bible. This text corresponds to the Old Testament in Christianity and is also connected to the Quran in Islam. It can be said to be the very root of world religions.
Why did a myth belonging to a single people spread across the world? It’s similar to how Greek myths were preserved in constellations around the globe. Stories from one culture became universal narratives passed down through many peoples.
The most notable feature of Judaism is faith in a single God, Yahweh. At a time when polytheism, like Japan’s belief in the myriad gods (Yaoyorozu), was common, believing in only one God was truly revolutionary. The true nature of this one God will be explored in more detail in the next lesson.
