The 8th TICAD will be making its way to Tunis in 2022, the second time since 1993 for the conference to be held on African soil. Manifesting Africa's growing contribution to the TICAD process, the conference will be a great opportunity for the country to host both Africa and Japan whilst building and strengthening private sector relations. The Sultanate of Oman enjoys a lasting relationship with Japan dating back to the 17th century. 47th anniversary of diplomatic relations and cooperation which include visa exemptions for officials and a memorandum of cooperation between their military. Since last year, Japanese investment in the Sultanate has increased by more than 17%, with foreseeably more to come through Oman’s Free Investment Zones and Industrial Cities such as Duqm. Tokyo is beefing up its startup game!

The "Tokyo Global Startup Ecosystem Partnership Agreement" was announced today at the Innovation Leaders Summit (ILS). The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, The Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Project Nippon just inked a deal to create Tokyo's ultimate startup ecosystem and achieve "Society 5.0". The agreement covers 4 main initiatives stemming from the ILS' Tokyo Challenge 100.
