When you’ve been in Japan, but keep forgetting to get sushi 🍣 because you’re mainly in Japan for work, so one day you finally get to try some in Japan 🇯🇵 when you finally have some time off. First time ever experiencing sushi like this. Wandered off on my own after checking out one of the Bookstores 📚 in Ginza Six. I didn’t really want a lot of food, just something simple and light. So, tried some seasonal sushi and plum wine on the rocks 🧊. As for the escargot 🐌, honestly, first time trying it 😅 I didn’t order it, so maybe it’s the shop’s appetizer. I saw that they had sweet potato 🍠 ice cream 🍨 and red beans 🫘 dessert, so got that at the end of the meal. Just something about the ice cream there that just much better and not extremely sweet. You can appreciate the natural flavor.

Yakitori 🍢? Yes please 🙏 Nothing beats walking into a small Izakaya 🏮 in Japan 🇯🇵 and not knowing what protein they serve. From left to right, a little bit of hearts, qual eggs 🥚 wrapped with pork belly 🥓 and finish it off with butt…wait what? Wash it down with plum wine on rocks 🧊 and then head back to lodging. Rest and back to work at odd hours.

Walking through Berkeley’s Elmwood District the other day, I was reminded of nature’s quiet resilience. Despite the pounding rains and fierce winds of the Atmospheric River (storm 🌧️), the plum blossoms 🌸 are blooming—delicate yet unwavering, standing strong against the storm.

🌱 Nature’s reminder that even in the harshest conditions, beauty persists. Strength isn’t always loud; sometimes, it’s simply the courage to bloom.

Amid the sacred grounds of Wat Phra Keo , a purple lotus 🪷 unfurls its delicate petals to the light. Inside, bees 🐝 move tirelessly, their quiet, rhythmic work unnoticed by most. Their wings hum with purpose, each motion an invisible thread in the intricate fabric of life.

Like the bees, we labor quietly, so much of our effort hidden beneath the surface. What we allow others to see is only the bloom, the beauty we choose to display. Yet behind it all lies the real story—the unseen struggle, the quiet persistence, the moments of toil that remain in the shadows. In this way, both the bees and we reveal the truth of our existence: that beauty, like all things, is born of effort, unseen but deeply felt.

This iconic event has been a celebrated tradition since 1981, showcasing the strong ties between the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and the Bay Area community. It was initially launched to honor the United States Armed Forces and their humanitarian efforts, particularly in disaster relief. Over the years, it has become one of the largest Fleet Week events in the country, drawing millions of spectators to San Francisco. Curious about what it’s like to take Waymo, an autonomous / self-driving car? 🚗✨ We wanted to share our experience riding Waymo around the busy streets of San Francisco to get to Chinatown and celebrate Chinese New Year 🧧🐉 earlier this year. Our parents were brave enough to join us on this ride. Lucky for us that they tolerate our curious adventures. Our parents are total tech enthusiasts and were excited to ride Waymo. They kept calling Waymo “the robot car”. Waymo got us around safely during both daytime and nighttime.

SF Chinatown did an incredible job bringing the celebration back to its grandeur. The streets were alive with stunning decorations, lively parades, and lots of fireworks and firecrackers! 🎆🧨 (beware, loud firework and firecracker sound in the video)

Happy Father’s Day! ❤️ We took our Papa Bear 🐻 out to get his favorite iced vanilla soy latte ☕️, half sweetened. It’s rare for us to be all together, so it’s extra special when the kids come home. Our family often video call each other every day, but when we’re together in-person, it’s even more special. Dad practiced ordering the lattes. It was super cute 🥰
